CIVILIZE IT: DIGNITY BEYOND DEBATE As Catholics, we have a long tradition of engagement in the political process as a means of putting our faith into action. We are called to bring the best of ourselves and our faith to the public square—and yet today, many shy away from such involvement because our national and local conversations are filled with vitriol and harsh language, often directed at people themselves. When personal attacks replace honest debate, no one wins. This kind of attack, no matter the reason, only serves to further divide our communities. As Catholics, we must model a better way. Civilize It is about making room in your heart for those with whom you disagree. We are called to recognize that each one of us is a beloved child of God and to respond in love to that reality. Civilize It is a non-partisan call to focus on the dignity of all people, even when we disagree, and to put faith in action by bearing witness to a better way forward. More information available here or https://www.wearesaltandlight.org/civilize-it

140% of Goal
As the Annual Catholic Appeal Campaign comes to a close we want to thank the 327 families who participated. Almost 50%! Through your tremendous generosity and support OLG is among the top 10 parishes that exceeded goal.

As promised these funds will be used to expand our Youth and Young Adult Ministry Program. We are excited to announce we have increased Jennifer Ibach's hours so that she can lead this effort, Many of you know Jennifer through her work with outreach and social justice ministry. Look for more information in the coming months.

Thank you to the OLG community for once again supporting our teens and the annual Youth Migrant Project. Although we were not able to go to the Skagit Valley to volunteer this year, we were grateful to collect for the migrant families in this time of need. Thanks to your generosity, we collected a carload of food, diapers, school supplies, and gifts to be shared with the clients at St. Charles Tri-Parish Food Bank in Burlington and Catholic Community Services (CCS) Farmworker Center in Mount Vernon. We also collected masks, care kits, and hygiene supplies for Migrant Health Clinics in the region. These will go a long way in protecting and nourishing recipients and they are also a tangible reminder that others are thinking of them. We also received over $700 in monetary donations, which will be shared with St. Charles and CCS to support their ongoing ministry. Thank you for helping to bring God’s love and care to those who put food on our tables!
