SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN AT GIVING WEEKEND

Next weekend is the Called to Serve as Christ Giving Weekend. The upcoming Giving Weekend is for those parishioners who just haven’t had time to complete their pledge cards. If you have not already, please review the campaign materials Archbishop Etienne sent in the mail and thoughtfully consider your response. Further, we want to say thank you to everyone who has already made a commitment to this important effort. Together, we are helping secure the future of the Archdiocese of Seattle. We ask anyone who has yet to make a campaign commitment to consider, pray and contribute during next week’s Giving Weekend. Every gift makes a difference!

As a reminder our goal is $848,937. Currently we have reached 7% of that goal. It is important to reiterate that your pledge is payable over three years and that 15 percent of the money raised and paid to the archdiocese will be used to support the work at our parish.
Mary, Mother of the Holy Rosary, pray for us!

Next Wednesday, October 7 @ 4:30pm, we will gather together as a parish to pray the rosary on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary Please join us in person (registration required) or by Livestream to gather together and ask for Mary's intercession for the needs of our family, parish, community and country.

WILMA MILLER HAS MADE
1,027 MASKS!

Soon after our COVD-19 shut-down, a team of dedicated parishioners took on the task to make masks for our community, and our larger West Seattle Community, along with supporting our farm worker families.  With her sewing machine going daily, there is one person in this amazing ministry, that I want to have all of you in our community help me congratulate as Wilma Miller has made to date, 1,027 masks! Our, Wilma, has many talents, as many of you have been the beneficiary of her jams and preserves, crochet coat hangers, pot- holders and clothing protectors. Thank you, Wilma, for sharing your gifts with our community as we are blessed in abundance to have you part of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish!
We are so thrilled to share that Mel Dennis is now home after a very long journey with his health. Mel and Sheila want to thank their wonderful OLG family for the prayers and good wishes sent over the past year. Mel is still in need of lots of therapy in the recovery process but at least he is home. Keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming!
CONGRATULATIONS & GOD’S BLESSINGS to those who celebrated their First Communion these past two weeks:  Leo Chiodo, Lailah Foster, & Alyssa Kuhn. In addition, we welcome Marlowe Joy Phouang Pheth, who was recently baptized.  May they continue to grow in the love of Jesus and know the support and care of our parish community.

UPDATE ON FR. KEVIN Thank you for your cards, prayers and well wishes this past week. Fr. Kevin is home resting and feeling stronger every day.

REGISTRATION IS ON-GOING FOR ALL OUR FAMILY FAITH FORMATION CLASSES You can register and pay on-line for your convenience. Virtual classes will start October 11th and family packets will be available for pick up with curriculum the week of October 5th through the 9th. Parents and Guardians, please note, that we have added another option for families to participate in our programs: 3rd-5th and 6th and 7th. If you are wanting to limit your child’s screen time, you can have the option of registering for these two classes and receive the curriculum and work at home with no virtual class time with the catechist. Please note, that this only applies to these two classes, as Sac Prep One and Two will need to participate in all virtual classes with their catechist. Call Marion Kari if you have questions, 206 935-0358 or email: [email protected]

HELP PROVIDE RELIEVE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY WILDFIRES AND HURRICANES As unhealthy smoke clouds our skies, we are aware that many are suffering the direct impact of the fires through loss of homes, businesses, and lives. In other parts of our country, people are rebuilding after devastating hurricanes have knocked out power, communications, water provision, Churches, rectories, schools, and more. We encourage those who are able to contribute to a special emergency disaster fund to provide relief and support to those suffering these natural disasters.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS INVITES YOU and your family to join the Knights of Columbus and fellow Catholics around the world in a Novena for the Cause of Life beginning on Sunday, Oct. 4, and ending on Monday, Oct. 12. For more information on how to pray this novena, please see the Knights of Columbus page on the parish website.
