Stewardship of Treasure Begins November 1st

Every fall parishioners are asked to prayerfully consider their stewardship in support of the many ministries and programs here at Our Lady of Guadalupe through their time, talent and treasure. In the next few days you will receive your stewardship of treasure renewal letter from Fr. Kevin. 2020 has been a most difficult and challenging year for our parishioners, our parish, and our community. Given this, as well as the recent completion of the Annual Catholic Appeal, and Called to Serve as Christ campaign, we are asking your permission to rollover your parish financial support pledge from last year to 2021. If you consent to renew your 2020 pledge for 2021 – you do not need to do anything. If you would like to make changes to your pledge (or you did not make a pledge last year), simply fill out the enclosed pledge card you will receive and mail it to the parish. You can also make your pledge online. We ask that you respond by the end of November as we will begin the rollover process the first of December.
2019-2020 Annual Report Now Available
Last week a copy of the parish annual report was emailed or mailed to registered parishioners. We are pleased to present our Annual Report to the parish for the fiscal and pastoral year starting July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020. We take seriously our responsibility to be good stewards of your time, talent and treasure. We thank you for your ongoing support and participation, for without you there would be no report to give.
OLG Election Day Vigil

Let’s join together on Election Day, Nov. 3, in prayer and solidarity.
From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., we will stand vigil (socially distanced, with masks) on 35th Avenue outside the church, to offer prayers for our nation and to encourage our neighbors driving by.

We invite you to bring your own candle if you'd like. Also, remember this is a non-partisan vigil so leave your campaign gear at home.
Gather friends and sign up for a half-hour vigil time slot:

VIRTUAL ETHICAL TRADE SALE
Many of the artisans, farmers, and communities we support through the sale are struggling more than ever this year as COVID spreads and sales slow. Through our virtual sale, you'll find a large variety of unique, quality items and gifts. You will also empower others AND support OLG (20% of sales come back to us)! Win, win, win! Simply shop through our custom parish link: serrv.org?a=olgfairtrade (an orange banner at the top of the page will say OLG). Bonus, you can also get free shipping on 11/14-11/15 (code: SEHOLIDAY20).
This year, we are also selling Pura Vida coffee. Pura Vida has been VERY generous every year, donating 100% of sales (sometimes even more!). Their business is struggling with COVID and now we can return the generosity. To order their delicious ground or whole bean coffee, contact Erin at [email protected] by November 30. We’ll have coffee ready to pick up at OLG parish and/or school in time for your Christmas celebrations! Bonus: We get $4 back on every bag sold!

REMEMBERING YOUR LOVED ONES DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER The Catholic Church has a long tradition of remembering those who have died during the month of November, beginning with the Feast of All Souls. Besides those we remember on our All Souls Banners, people have traditionally submitted names of family and friends who have also passed to also be included. Please call or email the Parish Office, [email protected]. You may also make a donation in memory of your loved ones by going to our “Donation” button on our website or by mail. DO YOU WORK WITH WAX? We have lots high quality altar candle ends (51% beeswax) that are looking for a good home. Contact Helen, [email protected], 206-935-0358

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO MOVE GARDEN SOIL FROM PARKING LOT! Before the rains really come, we need volunteers to move the remaining garden soil from the gravel parking lot to the planting area in front of the Parish Office. We would be forever grateful, and you will earn extra credit in heaven!! Contact Helen, [email protected], 206-935-0358
