Dear OLL Families,
Happy Halloween to all our students and families from OLL teachers and staff!
Thank you all for making the effort to meet with our teachers for conferences. These conversations can be joyous and even sometimes challenging, but there is always the spirit of partnership that we are working in the same direction, with our eyes on our kids reaching their full potential in and out of the classroom.
Tomorrow morning, Fr. Tim sets off with a group of fellow OLL pilgrims to Central Spain, where they will travel to Madrid, Segovia, Avila and Toledo. Avila is a city of cobblestone streets surrounded by a giant wall and is best known as the home of St. Teresa, who is the classroom patron saint of our 6th graders. Her prayer is a favorite of several on our staff. It helps to keep all in perspective, which can be a good reminder as we dive into a busy November and the lead-in to Advent. St. Teresa’s words aim at the heart of what matters, as she implores us to:
“Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.”
In closing - Happy Halloween! Here's a picture below of our visit from Reptile Man - yes, that's a real alligator; not a Halloween costumed stuffed animal...Brave Mrs. Schultze and thank you to our Parents Club for sponsoring such a fun event!
