Reminder: OLLI Member Survey Due
Please take just two minutes to share your input by 4:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, May 25. Your feedback sets OLLI's priorities, and we need to know how well the OLLI at SOU program is meeting your needs. The survey was emailed to all members on May 17. If you didn't receive it, please contact the OLLI office at [email protected]. Thank you!
Fall Course Proposals Due Monday, May 31
To all instructors who are thinking about teaching an in-person course in the fall: As you know, OLLI will be offering some in-person classes at Campbell Center and HEC this coming Fall term. Although SOU has mandated vaccinations for all teachers and students on campus in the Fall (which will include OLLI), we do not yet know what kind of limitations (masking, distancing) SOU will also require, if any. If you're debating whether to submit a course proposal for an in person course given those uncertainties, we encourage you to go for it! On June 1 at 1:00 PM PDT, all in person instructors will be meeting to get an update from SOU; at that point, if you wish, you can move your course online. Remember that the course proposal window for all courses for Fall closes at midnight on May 31st. Thanks for your continuing support for OLLI. Questions? Contact Susan Stitham at [email protected].
OLLI Ballots
Elections for the three open seats on the OLLI Council will begin on Wednesday, May 26, with ballots emailed to members. Thank you to these dedicated folks who have volunteered to help lead OLLI, and thanks to all who participated in the candidate forum. For those members without email, a hard copy ballot will be mailed to you.

Lifelong Learning Series
Volunteer instructor Karen Grove wrote the most recent piece in the Lifelong Learning series. Great reading on our local geology, and why teaching at OLLI is rewarding and fun for instructors. Click here to download a PDF of the article.

Karen's article is a timely reminder that May is the month to submit course proposals for OLLI's fall term. If you have knowledge or a passion about a subject that you'd like to share, please consider teaching a course this fall. Courses may be as short as two sessions, or cover the full 10-week term. Click here to learn more or submit a proposal.
In observance of Memorial Day, the OLLI office will be closed and no classes will meet on Monday, May 31.

Spring is Volunteer Appreciation Season
Volunteer Appreciation
Heartfelt Thanks to all the folks who have recruited, facilitated, hosted, or provided tech assistance for the Conversation Connections this year:

Thank you for all the Con-Cons offered this year. They were organized and well presented. It takes patience and concentration to make it all work.
Last call! Take a moment to thank an OLLI Volunteer!
Thanks to all the grateful OLLI members who have taken the time to thank a volunteer this spring. There's still time to submit a message of appreciation to an OLLI volunteer. Click here to tell us who you'd like to thank and why, and we'll share your comments in a future NewsFlash and on Facebook.
