Don't Miss These Spring Study Groups
The Fight for Women's Right to Vote
Mondays, March 4 - 25
9:00 - 11:15 a.m.
In this study group, we will discuss the historical, social, and economic factors of women's suffrage. On the last day, Farrell Davies, president of the local League of Women Voters, will speak about the League's historical connection and current work.
$45 - facilitated by Cheryl Budzinski, past president of the League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria, and Janet McGrath, OLLI volunteer.
Fall and Redemption in Film
Mondays, March 4 - April 8
9:30 - 11:45 a.m.
What do Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, and even the White Witch of Narnia have in common? How do they relate with the timeless stories we read in the Bible? At the heart of everything is the simple, powerful story of fall and redemption. Join us these six weeks as we explore this theme through the films of today.
$45 - facilitated by Bill Dohle, pastor serving St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Fly Me to the Moon - The Social and Technical History
of Apollo 11
Mondays, March 4 - April 8
1:00 - 3:15 p.m.
Goodwill Commons
This study group will investigate the history of Apollo 11 and the turbulent times of the 1960s. The technical achievement of Apollo 11 cannot be told in a vacuum, as NASA's execution of the Apollo program took place during a decade of searing racial divisions, intense political divisiveness over the Vietnam War, and rapid changes in social norms.
$45 - facilitated by Mark Golden, retired Caterpillar engineer.

Share Your Memories About
Our Lifelong Learning Community
Starting this fall, OLLI will begin celebrating its 25th anniversary as a lifelong learning community at Bradley University. We'd like your help in reliving our past.
We want to learn more about your memories of OLLI and its predecessor, the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), so that we can compile memories that will help us commemorate our silver anniversary.
Tell us something about your experiences; share a funny or heartfelt story; let us know what OLLI has meant to you - or comment about the memory you most value.
In the meantime, enjoy reminiscing!

OLLI Insider: Your Questions Answered
Dear OLLI Insider,
I've heard some OLLI members talk about a kick-off luncheon. Is this only for people who take classes? I think I'd like to attend, but am not sure if I'm invited. Can you help?
Signed, Hungry Hank
Hank,
We're so glad word is spreading about our Spring Kick-Off Luncheon on March 13. Everyone is invited to attend, of course! Members who are registered for Spring classes do not need to pay, because the cost of the luncheon is included in class fees. If you attend a trip or a study group, we ask you to make a reservation and pay a fee of $25. You can do both of these by calling our office at (309) 677-3900. The registration deadline is Wednesday, February 27.
The season's keynote speaker will be Mark Spenny, President and CEO of CEFCU. We also have a delicious menu planned, which will feature a garden salad, teriyaki top sirloin steak, au gratin potatoes, roasted vegetables, and red velvet cake.
Sincerely,
OLLI Insider

Scholarship Expo Seeking Volunteer Judges
If you are interested in witnessing the exemplary research, scholarship, and creative work of Bradley's students, OLLI members are invited to serve as a volunteer judges for the Student Scholarship Expo in April.
What is the Expo? Students present poster displays of their projects and share a 5-10 minute presentation about their work. A panel of judges evaluates the students' presentation skills, making note of how organized their poster is, how well they share their project to a generalized audience, and the quality of their public speaking and presentations skills. Faculty mentors and advisors supplement the judging with expert evaluation of the projects themselves.
How can you help? If you are interested in serving as a judge for the Student Scholarship Expo, you will be asked to contribute 2.5 hours on Tuesday, April 16, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for viewing posters, listening to students' presentations, and scoring. As an additional bonus, judges are also invited to the public viewing and awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 17. All Expo events will be held in Bradley's Renaissance Coliseum.
For more information about the Student Scholarship Expo, visit the Expo website. You may also email questions to the Expo organizers, Kristen Woods and Dannielle Wentzel, at
[email protected]
. If you are ready to sign up, you may register online if you wish to serve as a judge.

Support an organization by attending an event
Surprise someone with flowers
Pass out valentines
Mail a card to a family member
Students, faculty, staff, and OLLI members are encouraged to complete any of these acts of kindness (or to create your own!) and share your experience on social media. Use the hashtag #LoveBradley, and tag Bradley University in your post for a chance to win one of the weekly prizes! Email Liz Gunty if you have any questions.
