If you would like to be involved in a process that helps you, a friend, or a family member better understand and manage diabetes, join Marge Getz for the Diabetes Conversation Map Program.

Participants will attend two 3-hour sessions covering topics such as diet, physical activity, glucose monitoring, and medications. "Conversations" will focus on participants' actual experiences with and feelings about diabetes using a map to visually engage members in a friendly, open discussion aimed at managing diabetes.

Because this program is part of Bradley's CREST Summer Program for talented local high school and college students interested in clinical careers, the Diabetes Conversation Map Program will include students and interns who are participating in a community wellness project on diabetes management.

The program will meet at Bradley on Monday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 25, from 9:00 a.m. until noon (with a snack break). Trained program facilitators are Marjorie Getz and Linda Doling from Methodist College and Bradley CREST students.

If you are interested in joining the Diabetes Conversation Map Program, please email Marjorie Getz: [email protected].  There is no cost for the program, and parking is free on campus.

The Diabetes Conversation Map Program was developed by the American Diabetes Association, Merck and Co., and Healthy Chicago.
