Continuing Education's Facelift is Underway!

The Continuing Education office is in the midst of a flooring face-lift, and staff has packed their offices and we're working remotely until the project is completed on June 8 (estimate).

Pardon our mess as we temporarily conduct business under some trying conditions that may include a disruption in our work. The copy machine, the phones, the computers, and all of the staff will be impacted until the work is complete.

Please make a note on your calendar that a visit to Continuing Education will be a challenge for awhile and that the staff will be working remotely, or in the Continuing Education basement. Thanks in advance for your patience and cooperation!

Registration Open for OLLI/AARP Legislative Breakfast

OLLI/AARP Legislative Breakfast

Thursday, July 12

OLLI members are invited to meet their elected officials and discuss issues they care about at an upcoming legislative breakfast.

The OLLI/AARP Legislative Breakfast, featuring local legislators and politicians, will be moderated by BradMcMillan, J.D., executive director of
the Institute for Principled Leadership in Public Service at Bradley University.

Free parking will be available in the Main Street parking deck adjacent to the Renaissance Coliseum. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast.

Oatmeal Canisters and Lids Needed for WOW

World of Wonder is in need of empty oatmeal canisters and lids!

We've gone through all of the recyclables already donated, and we're short these items.

If you have some you'd like to donate, please bring them in a plastic bag to the Continuing Education office. We are under construction (as noted in the first article), but we can meet you at the back door to accept your donations!

We need the materials by next Friday, if possible. Thank you in advance!

Seats Available for Ravinia: All-Beethoven Concert

Ravinia: All-Beethoven Concert

Wednesday, July 18

1:00 p.m. - 12:45 a.m.

$149 per person

We have a few seats still available for this fantastic summer learning trip!

We'll visit Ravinia Festival, North America's oldest music festival, in Highland Park for an exclusive evening of food, music, and learning. Our trip will include a two-hour buffet dinner in a private tent, and pavilion seats for an All-Beethoven concert by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

A private, pre-concert lecture will be given by Dr. Stephen Alltop, director of music for Alice Millar Chapel at Northwestern University. We'll also have a chance to visit our OLLI peers from Northwestern and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who will join our group for the evening.

Handful of Seats Available for Glacier Express Trip

Thursday, June 7, 2018 is the last day to purchase one of OLLI's reserved seats for the Glacier Express trip in July 2020! Although seats may be available after this point, you will need to call for pricing and availability.

We have 38 participants already registered for the travel event of the decade as we journey through Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, culminating with a performance of the famed Oberammergau Passion Play.

Highlights of the trip include spectacular Alpine vistas; an unforgettable train ride through the Alps on the Glacier Express; a Mozart dinner concert at the centuries-old St. Peter's Restaurant in Salzburg; Germany's Bavarian capital of Munich; and the world-renowned Passion Play, hosted by the quaint village of Oberammergau.

Due to the immense worldwide popularity of the event, we must book our reservations two years in advance!

A refundable deposit of $750 and non-refundable insurance payment of $500 are due at the time of registration.
