OLLI Shirt Makes its Way to Cuba! shirt

OLLI member Nancy Taylor, right, arranged for a group from the Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria to go on a People-to-People trip to Cuba in April. They were asked to bring gifts for their Cuban hosts.  OLLI member Terry Matthews, left, collected over 150 t-shirts as gifts. Taylor and Matthews presented an OLLI shirt to Fernando Siez, director of Malpaso --Cuba's first private dance company -- who spoke to their group and introduced a performance by his company.

Recyclable Items Needed for World of Wonder

** Thank you to everyone who has brought in donations!  We will update this list each week with any items we are still seeking.  We greatly appreciate your overwhelming assistance in collecting supplies!**

World of Wonder, a summer camp for gifted and talented students run by Continuing Education, needs your recyclable items!  Our teachers are coming up with creative activities to challenge students' higher order thinking processes, and below is a list of recyclable supplies they would love to have.

- Kleenex boxes
- cereal boxes
- rinsed soda cans
- rinsed soup cans
- take-out pizza boxes (a little grease is okay)

(We have all we need of the following items: newspaper, grocery bags, empty toilet paper and paper towel tubes, water bottles, egg cartons, shoe boxes. Thank you to all who donated!)

If you are able to collect any of the above items, we will take them!  You may bring them to the Continuing Education building (corner of Main and University streets) any time between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Thank you for supporting World of Wonder 2017!
