December 15 – The State of the Death Penalty in the U.S. – Political Science Professor Austin Sarat and moderated by OLLI Instructor Terry McAteer who studied under Sarat. Professor Sarat is the author of "Lethal Injection and the False Promise of Humane Execution." This discussion will be scintillating and informative.

Sierra Writers Conference 2024

Free to Current OLLI Members!

What is it? – The Sierra Writers Conference is an annual event providing inspiration and craft progression activities for area writers and Sierra College students through lectures, panels, Q & A, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Price – The Sierra Writing Conference 2024 is free to OLLI students and staff and $65 for community members.

Locations – Online via Zoom, Rocklin, and Nevada County Campuses

Rocklin Campus: 5100 Sierra College Blvd., Rocklin, California

Nevada County Campus: 250 Sierra College Dr., Grass Valley, California

Parking is $3 at both Rocklin and Nevada County Campuses.

Links for online workshops and presentations will be emailed just prior to the conference. Please check your email for access to the online portion of the event.



Tickets – Tickets provide access to all events, whether online or in person; attendees can pick and choose. Select the Free ticket option entitled, Sierra College Student or Staff, as shown in the screenshot below. Since you are a current OLLI at Sierra College member, you do not need a Sierra College email address to register.

OLLI Membership 2023-2024 is valid through July 31, 2024 and it covers our Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 Terms.
