Retired Sac Bee Publisher, Cheryl Dell,
to Teach on “Bias in the Media”
Cheryl Bell, the recently retired President and Publisher of the Sacramento Bee, retired to Nevada County and wants to stay active so she has joined the OLLI faculty.

Bell will be teaching her three section “Bias in the Media” class via zoom on Tuesdays from 10 to Noon on May 4th, 11th, and May 18th. If interested, sign-up on the OLLI website. Cheryl notes, “In this class we will learn about this history of media bias and how it exists in today’s media coverage. We will explore ways to learn about your own bias as a news consumer and how to evaluate- and counterbalance- bias in news coverage.
Sacramento Jewish Film Festival Starts March 3rd
This year’s virtual Sacramento Jewish Film Festival is jammed packed with streaming cinema experiences. The SJJF will be streaming 24 feature films from ten different countries between March 3-24th. It also will include 12 film shorts and eight live Zoom chat events.

Genres include documentaries, biographies, comedies, and dramas. Subjects include art, music, dance, espionage, history, Israel, Palestinian issues, the Holocaust, sports, and a number of social issues including: gays in the military, living with disabilities, autism, and interfaith relations.
