October 13 – "A Force of Nature" - The John Muir Trail – Joan discusses her new memoir, "Force of Nature: Three Women Tackle the John Muir Trail", and the adventure it describes. Joan is joined by her two backpacking companions, OLLI members, Jane Riedel and Caroline Hickson. "Force of Nature" is equal parts gripping adventure tale, personal memoir, and vivid nature writing.
