Suppose there was a 3400-acre cattle ranch near you with views of downtown Denver, a petrified forest, Princess Parties, bugling elk, and a 130-year unique history, and a 1450's Scottish-style castle built in 1924-1926 from rhyolite and petrified wood with gargoyles keeping watch outside. What if it hosted weddings, wedding anniversaries, wine and Scotch tastings, not to mention teas for your grandchildren with clotted cream and castle tours. Suppose it was put together over 45 years by cattle woman, conservationist, and socialite Tweet Kimball, and then donated to create her foundation.

Bring your lunch and join us to learn about the formation of the Cherokee Ranch & Castle and what they are doing now. This is a free event.

Our speaker will be the Executive Director of the Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundation, James A. Holmes. James has balanced a career as a serial entrepreneur with major contributions to Denver's cultural community. As trustee of, among others, The Denver Art Museum, President of the Arts District on Santa Fe, and a former board member of cultural entities including The Colorado Ballet, he has won many awards for community service and leadership. As befits a man of such widespread interests and talents, he has successfully shepherded the Castle through the valley of Covid and is resuming a full schedule of its historic activities. In addition, he is increasing its multigenerational educational programs and scientific emphasis. Ask him about the yearly Veterans' Day effort.
