New!!! Partnership Courses with
OLLI at Dartmouth
| |
|
OLLI at UConn and OLLI at Dartmouth are venturing into a new kind of partnership together as we kick off our fall term. This is part of the work being done by OLLIs in the New England area as we work together to provide new and exciting opportunities for our members.
OLLI at UConn members can now take a selection of online courses from OLLI at Dartmouth without having to register for a Dartmouth membership. Likewise, OLLI at Dartmouth members will be able to take a selected sample of OLLI at UConn courses.
The registration process for these courses is exactly the same as any other OLLI at UConn course/event/membership.

Important Zoom Update for
Online Courses

With the start of fall classes right around the corner, the Technology Team would like to provide some information regarding the use of Zoom for online courses:
To help ensure that your online course runs smoothly, please make sure that your Zoom application is up-to-date with the latest version of Zoom. To check if you have an update available, please click the “Updating Zoom” button below to visit Zoom’s website with instructions.

PARKING REGISTRATION UPDATE

To register for FREE Fall 2022 parking, please go to the registration website at OLLI at UConn Registration, click on the "Parking" tile, add the parking section to your cart, and then fill in your vehicle information when checking out.

You will NOT receive a parking decal by mail. UConn Parking Services holds all information electronically and their enforcement officers will know that you are permitted to park in the garage.
You will need to make sure that you are both signed in and have an active membership to register for free parking in the attached garage
*Please Note: We are only able to accommodate one vehicle for free parking. If you would like to register another vehicle, then please purchase a parking permit through Parking Service here: https://park.uconn.edu/olli-parking-information/.

REGISTER FOR OUR 15TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION! | |

2022 marks 15 years of lifelong learning here at OLLI at UConn. Since the program's inception at UConn Waterbury, people have been taking classes that they enjoy, make them think, and keep them engaged with fellow members of their community.
Please join us on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. to celebrate 15 years of learning!
This event will include:
- Complimentary catered lunch
- Live music from Larry Rifkin's band, BOOM
- An art & photography exhibit featuring fellow members' work
- Door prizes
- The opportunity to celebrate along with fellow OLLI members, both past and present, who share the same love of learning that you do!
A huge "Thank You" to the 15th Anniversary Committee for taking the time to plan this event celebrating OLLI's major milestone.

NEW: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM | |
|
For the Fall 2022 semester, OLLI at UConn is offering a new financial assistance pilot program to cover annual membership expenses. This will be available to anyone who would like to be an OLLI member or to those renewing membership who may need assistance.
The program aims to support those who may not have the financial resources to fulfill the membership fee of $65. This is a pilot program for Fall 2022, and funds are currently only available for annual memberships started or renewed during the fall semester.
This pilot program was made possible by donations to OLLI at UConn.

OLLI Knitting and Crochet Circle Club | |

There’s a brand-new club coming to OLLI this fall!
Starting September 12th, the OLLI Knitting and Crochet Circle will meet on Mondays from 10 A.M to 12 P.M. in Room 102 on the UConn Waterbury campus. All genders and skill levels of knitters and crocheters are welcome, from novice to experienced. There are only two requirements: you must be a current paid member of OLLI and you should bring your own needles, hooks and yarn. Share your tips, techniques or skills with others. Show and tell your projects!

The Italian club has been very active during the past two years. We are now taking a break during the fall semester. We are going to meet again during the winter break. If you have a knowledge of the Italian language, and would like to participate, we welcome you to join. There are only two requirements: you must be a paid member of OLLI, and we speak only Italian! More details will follow.

The OLLI Photography Club is meeting via Zoom on the last Friday of each month at 12:00 P.M. for the summer. Join the Photography Club for photographic challenges and critiques as well as advice on composition, exposure and contrast, and creating black and white images. No experience needed!
