OLMA Names 2017 Inductees to the Salerno Society Hall of Fame
In an effort to support the athletics program at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, as well as to honor the many students, faculty, families, and friends who helped make it possible, the  Salerno Society was founded in 2012.  It was named in honor of Sister Mary Dolores Salerno, D.M., Our Lady of Mercy Academy's first principal, as it was she who introduced sports as an integral part of the school's curriculum.

Each year, the OLMA Salerno Society names a new slate of honorees to its Hall of Fame.   We are proud to announce the following members:

Susan Cavagnaro  -- OLMA Class of 1967 and long-time faculty member.

2009 Varsity Crew Team members, Senior Quad Boat --
Isabella Lezzi, Mary Golden, Gina Marie Hartman and Abigail Kazan (Abbot)

Dr. Alexis Harvey  -- OLMA Class of 1977 and radiation oncology specialist.

Bifulco Farms  -- Representing three Bifulco families that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in support of OLMA and Daughters of Mercy.

Read on to find out more about this year's honorees, the celebration that's planned for Saturday, October 28, 2017 -- all in support of OLMA Athletics.
Susan Van Hook Cavagnaro

Mrs. Cavagnaro, known lovingly as Mrs. C by her students, graduated from OLMA in 1967 -- but didn't stay away for long.  After completing her education at Villanova University, Mrs. C joined the OLMA faculty.  She developed the History and Social Sciences Department -- one that she continues to head today.  Mrs. C also serves as senior class advisor, a role that countless OLMA students will forever be grateful to her for playing.  Mrs. C is a dedicated community servant and instills the love of helping others into each of her students.
Dr. Alexis Harvey

Dr. Alexis Harvey, OLMA Class of 1977, is an accomplished Board Certified Radiation Oncologist who brings extensive knowledge, experience and compassion to the New Jersey communities she serves. As evidence of her dedication to the field, Dr. Harvey has been recognized as "Top Physician" and "Best Physician for Women" by South Jersey Magazine for the last five years.  Although Dr. Harvey treats all cancer types, she specializes in breast cancer treatments.
Bifulco Farms

The Academy is blessed to have so many supportive families who are willing to help at a moment's notice.  Bifulco Farms, powered by the many generations of Bifulco family members pictured above, is one that's well deserving of both thanks and recognition.

2009 Varsity Crew Team -- Senior Quad Boat

The fact that the crew program was only in year two at the Academy didn't stop this foursome from racking up some very impressive wins.  The girls,  Abigail Kazan, Isabella Iezzi, Mary Golden, and Gina Marie Hartman, captured the bronze medal at the Philadelphia City championships.  That secured them a place in the Brides Plate at the Stotesbury Regatta.  Theirs was one of 16 boats selected to compete.  Congratulations to these young women who championed the sport of crew at OLMA.
