All New Families K-8:
Welcome to the OLMC School Family!
School News: The best way to stay informed about school happening is our school Newsletter called the Messages from the Mount. During the school year, it is published each Wednesday afternoon in this format.

Safe & Sacred/Protocol Training: Everyone who works with young people and/or vulnerable adults shares the responsibility of creating safe environments. We are all charged with treating life with the respect and dignity given to each of us by our God.

Our policy at OLMC Parish & School, is for any adult working with children in any capacity at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School before, during or after the school day (including driving of the students to sporting events, girl scouts, boy scouts, etc.) is required to first complete both:

  1. The "Protecting Children in the 21st Century" Course and
  2. The Background check portion in the Safe & Sacred website.

Click here to complete now. Your training will not show complete until the background check portion is complete, this may take up to 7-10 days so plan ahead and get this completed now.

Lunchroom Duty: While we will be restricting the number of visitors to the school, we still need 4 parents per day to assist with cafeteria supervision. Our cafeteria relies on volunteers to help serve lunch daily. The children really love to see their parents and friend's parents in the lunchroom. We assign days to all families that have students in Full Day Kindergarten and grades 1-8.  This schedule will be communicated soon. If you are unable to help on your assigned day, it is your responsibility to find a substitute. Please try to call a friend or someone assigned to another day to see if they can swap with you.

Fundraising: SCRIP is OLMC’s main fundraising program.  We are hoping that all of our school families can participate in the program! There are several options for purchasing SCRIP which is just basically purchasing giftcards to pay for things you normally buy. The school gets a rebate for your purchases. Click here to learn more! Double bonus if you purchase SCRIP to buy uniforms from Lands' End!

Kroger Community Rewards Program is another way to effortlessly earn money for our school. Click here to learn how to link your Kroger Plus Card to earning money for OLMC.

Raider Roundup - New Format & Date:
August 3 & 4
Our traditional Raider Round-up has been modified to meet the needs of our school community. We understand the importance and need of our families to be re-acclimated to visiting our school. This year's Raider Round-up is a great opportunity for students to practice coming to school and walking to their classroom.  Parents will be asked to drop their children off (not entering the building) on the first day of school, so this practice day (with parents) is a great way to start!  This new approach is in place to best keep our families and attending staff as healthy as possible.

We have designated two different days/times for families to visit the school in order to limit the number of families in the building at one time.  You are welcome to switch your day/time if necessary, but we do ask that you try to stick with the original schedule. *This event is not mandatory and all teachers may not be present.

Monday, August 3rd (9am-12pm)
Families A-L are welcome to come to the school for a short visit
  • Pre-screen family members (screening questions); If you have experienced any of the symptoms or have been in contact with a person known to have COVID-19 within the last two weeks we respectfully ask you to refrain from entering the building.
  • Enter the front or back doors of the school
  • Masks are required
  • (Optional) Bring cleaning supplies to drop off in your child’s homeroom (clorox wipes, hand-sanitizer, kleenex, etc) so they have less to carry on the first day
  • Social Distance from other families (2 families inside a classroom at a time)
  • Please keep your visit brief and resist the temptation of gathering in larger groups in the hallway/parish hall/etc.

Tuesday, August 4th (4-7pm)
Families M-Z are welcome to come to the school for a short visit
  • Pre-screen family members (screening questions); If you have experienced any of the symptoms or have been in contact with a person known to have COVID-19 within the last two weeks we respectfully ask you to refrain from entering the building.
