Back To School Registration Due tomorrow:
Due Tomorrow! If you have not already submitted your online registration for your returning students, please do this as
(the school office will be closed March 19)
Emails went out last week.

Families with returning students in grades K-8: If you do not receive your email, just Log into your Parent Powerschool account & click on the Registration Icon (all the way at bottom in left hand column). You should be able to register all of your currently enrolled students in K-8.

Incoming Kindergarten students: you will need the email with link & your child's specific snapcode. If you do not receive your email, please check your SPAM and then contact the school office.

A $50 per family fee is also required and due by March 18.

The $50 family fee is not included in the $200 deposit for Full Day Kindergarten.

If your family or a child will not be returning to OLMC for the 2021-22 school year, please email Sr. Maria Benedicta at olmcprincipal@olmc1.org or the school office at olmcschool@olmc1.org. We have several grades with waiting lists.
Used Game and Book Drive:
Today is the last day to donate gently used games and books.
The OLMC teachers will have an opportunity to look through the items for use in their classrooms. Tomorrow, all books and games will be delivered to the Catholic Center for distribution to Indianapolis Catholic schools for use in classrooms and after school programs. There will be a collection box in the school atrium. (Please tape games shut so we don’t loose pieces in transit.). Contact Megan O’Connor with any questions, mkbritto@yahoo.com.
Our Spring Book Fair is going VIRTUAL this year. 
Ends Friday, March 19
We are partnering with Blue Ribbon Book Fair Company to offer excellent STEM and fiction books. The Book Fair runs until Friday, March 19. You can view the collection at: https://read-ola.com/OLMC. When ordering please input code OLMC 2021. 

All books will be shipped to the school and will arrive before Easter.

The following teachers have created wishlists if you'd like to shop for their classrooms. If you purchase a book from their wishlist, please e-mail the teacher to let them know so that they can remove that book from their wishlist.

Many thanks to Miss Rancourt who served us for a year and a half as a dedicated music teacher. During her leave of absence, Miss Rancourt has decided not to resume her position at OLMC School at this time. Mrs. Richardt will continue as the music teacher for the remainder of the year. 
Lands' End Uniforms:
As many of you learned during the virtual parent meeting last Thursday, the administration has granted 1 more year of amnesty for the old logo on the school uniform.

The retired logo may be worn one final year during the 2021-2022 school year.

Virtual Math Bee:

Grades 2-4 will each hold classroom competitions. Each homeroom will have 2 entrants and an alternate.

GET READY FOR STATE TESTING:
ILEARN (grades 3-8) April 19- May 14
ILEARN is the State of Indiana’s standardized assessment that measures student achievement and growth according to Indiana Academic Standards for grades 3 – 8. The assessments will be the weeks of April 19 – May 14.  Your child’s teacher will let you know the days/dates your child will be testing. Attendance during these days is very important. Please make every attempt to schedule doctor and dentist appointments around the test dates. 
Here are just a few tips for a good testing day:
  • Make sure students get a good night’s sleep. This is important every night!!!!
  • A good morning at home makes for a good morning at school.
  • Make sure your children eat a good healthy breakfast.
  • Talk to your children about the test. Remind them to give their best effort. This test is important, but too much stress can be a problem also.
  • Encourage your child to listen to the teacher for directions.
  • Encourage your child to think positively – they can do this!!!!
  • Smile and tell a funny joke – laughing is good for everyone.

IREAD3 (3rd Grade) March 8 - March 12:
The Indiana Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD-3) assessment measures foundational reading standards to grade 3 students each spring. Based on the Indiana Academic Standards, IREAD-3 is a summative assessment that was developed in accordance with House Enrolled Act 1367. This assessment will be administered March 8 – March 12. Your child’ teacher will let you know the times your child will be testing. Attendance during these days is very important. Please make every attempt to schedule doctor and dentist appointments around these test dates.

GUERIN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
2021 CAMP PURPLE - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Guerin Catholic is excited to welcome campers in grades K-8 back to campus through a variety of fun, safe and small group enrichment and athletic camps in June and July.  Descriptions, fees and registration are now available at GuerinCatholic.org. 
Camps are filling up fast! Register soon!  Camp Purple registrations received by May 31st receive a T-shirt!
