COVID-19 Updates:
As blessed as OLMC has been, it was inevitable that we would eventually have a positive case in our school. So far, we have had 3 reports of school community members who have tested positive. The majority our absences in the classroom are due to students who have been identified as a close contact. These students are in quarantine and are participating in short-term e-Learning. Our teachers are doing a great job managing Google Classroom for these students. Our current plan is to continue in-person learning at this time. We will continue to monitor cases within our local school population to determine if the need for an alternative method of learning arises.

We would like to clarify a few points:
  • OLMC School asks that families keep students home from school if a household member has a concern that he/she might be Covid-positive and is therefore being tested for the virus. Students do not need to stay home from school if a household member is asymptomatic and being tested randomly to fulfill an employer's request or if that person is testing to travel.
  • Please keep OLMC students home if someone in the household has a fever which has not been explained with an alternate diagnosis from a doctor (ie. if a sibling has a fever due to strep throat, the other siblings may come to school).
  • If a student is identified as a close contact, the parents will receive a phone call directly from a school administrator or from a member of the administrative staff.
  • An asymptomatic person identified as a close contact must quarantine for 14 days from last date of exposure to the positive person. A negative test result does not shorten the 14 day quarantine period.
  • Students home due to quarantine are counted as "Present virtually due to COVID" each day, as long as he/she is logging on to Google Classroom and completing their work.

Book Bill Payments:
The second half of the book bill payment is due on or before Nov 30.

Checks should be made payable to OLMC and can be sent to school office, directly to church office or mailed to:
OLMC School
14596 Oak Ridge Rd
Carmel, IN 46032

Please check your records to determine the balance due for your family Book Bill Fees.

Email Val Schoch in the church office at schochv@olmc1.org if you need your balance due.
Mask Information:
  • Please make sure that your child(ren) have an extra mask (or 2) in their backpack. We are seeing an increase number of students needing a replacement mask from the office during the school day.
  • Also, please make sure masks fit properly and are clean! Ear loops get stretched out causing masks to fall down and not fit properly.
Blue Family Commitment Forms:
The blue OLMC School commitment forms were sent home last Monday. We decided to send them home with the youngest child earlier than we normally do so we can get a headstart in planning ahead for the 2021-22 academic year. This way, we can begin receiving applications of new students earlier and inform new families in a timely fashion if their children would have a spot for next year or would be wait-listed at OLMC School. Forms were due last Friday. If you have not already done so, please send in your form as soon as possible to reserve your child(ren)'s positions for next year. Click here to print a form.
CHRISTMAS OUTREACH PROJECT BEGINS THIS WEEK!
OLMC School will again participate in Community Care Day, collecting much needed household items, personal hygiene products and children’s hats and mittens.

This was such a success last year! We were able to fill boxes full of those items for 285 families! And provided nearly 670 children with warm hats and mittens.

The under-served need our help in 2020, now more than ever. Please consider participating!

Forms, angel tags and green bags went home with your child(ren), on Monday. Items are due to school by Dec 4!

If you child is not at school due to quaranting, there is a box in the atrium with extra bags. If your family did not receive one and would like to participate, you may get one from the atrium today until 4pm or early next week between 7:15am-4pm. Thank you!

Teacher/Staff Christmas Gifts:
Let us make your Christmas shopping easier! The PTO is collecting Christmas gift money for teachers and staff. The gifts will be pooled together and each teacher and staff member will get their individual gift in SCRIP cards.

This year you can donate in one of two ways:

  • Give online to the teacher/staff gift fund: https://osvonlinegiving.com/4317/DirectDonate/75324
  • Send in a check to the school in an envelope marked “PTO Christmas Contribution.” Please make all checks out to OLMC PTO with “Christmas Contribution” in the memo line.

For ease in ordering with SCRIP, we are kindly asking that you give your donation in $5 increments (Ex. $5, $10, $20, etc). We are also asking that you make your online or check donations by Tuesday, December 1st.

Your room parents will work with the PTO to make sure the teachers and staff receive the SCRIP cards they desire for Christmas.
