SPELLING BEE

Some of OLP's best spellers came together today for the annual OLP Spelling Bee! It always has the audience on the edge of their seats as each grade level cheers on their representatives. Congrats to all who participated including 8th Grader, Chloe, for being OLP's overall winner! Chloe will go on to represent Presentation in the Kansas City area spelling bee this coming spring. Best of luck!

PANTHER PARTNERS: OLP appreciates the support from our amazing community! Do you know a business or family who might want to donate to our school?  OLP accepts new sponsors throughout the school year.

On your sponsorship form you can make a general school donation or specify to donate specifically to one or more of our school year events or activities. Donations will be accepted the entire school year, but best to pledge early to take advantage of the entire school year marketing! Anonymous donations are also honored.

How do I sign up?  You can either fill out the online sponsorship form and email it back to pantherpartners@olplsschool.org OR print and mail it/turn into the school address.

Summit Pizza will give back 10 percent of sales ALL DAY on Tuesday, November 28. Customers need to mention OLP when ordering or present the fundraising coupon. Share with your family and friends! Valid on lunch buffet/menu orders or dinner. Carryout and delivery.

8^th graders: It’s time to become a St. Michael Guardian! Please complete these two-steps in the Admissions process to be considered for acceptance.

1. Submit the application! Remember the application fee is waived if you apply by December 31^st. 
2. Register for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) -December 2. Please note: the student must take the test at St. Michael to qualify for the Presidential and Principal Scholarships. Alternative test date is January 20, 2024.

Acceptance letters will be mailed mid-January after we receive 1^st semester grades from the grade schools. This Admissions Timeline flyer is a good resource of the admissions process at St. Michael. Please email jhyde@smacatholic.org with any questions.

Faithful Friends Middle School Mixer

December 2

St. Michael the Archangel Parent Club is again hosting a Middle School Mixer themed this year as Faithful Friends! All 7th and 8th graders from OLP, St. John LaLonde, St. Regis, Nativity, and St. Thomas More are invited to a Middle School Mixer at St. Michael on Saturday, December 2 from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. It’s a casual event with a DJ and snacks. Registration is now open through our website at smacatholic.org/page/parent-club-mixer, and will close on November 21. Included in the registration link is an option to order a mixer t-shirt along with concessions. This will be a cashless event and no walk-in registrations will be allowed.

The St. Michael Parent Club anticipates another sold out event this year with the maximum number of students at 200, so don’t wait to register! Contact Parent Club member, Angie Amburn (ama2001@gmail.com), with any questions.

** Please note each school must provide 2 parent volunteers to help with check-in and chaperone the dance.
