Director's Message
Dear Friends of Our Lady of Prompt Succor,

The month of August brings us two Marian feasts:  Her Assumption into Heaven on the 15th, and her Queenship on the 22nd. I recently saw a lovely image of the sleeping Mary being carried tenderly by three angels into a golden sky.  However you picture Mary’s Assumption, our celebration of this feast reminds us that Mary, who gave birth to and nourished the Christ in his infancy and who later stood beneath his cross and then held his tortured and bloody body in death, is now with her Son in eternal bliss.

May Our Lady help us to bear our present sufferings and heartbreaks and to help others bear theirs.  May she also strengthen our faith that we will one day be with her and her Son in endless joy, where “every tear will be wiped away.”

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us!

Sr. Carolyn M. Brockland, OSU
