MEET OUR NEW TEACHING TEAM MEMBERS
MEET CELINE McLAUGHLIN (6B Teacher)
Hello! My name is Celine McLaughlin and I am the new sixth-grade math teacher here at Our Lady Queen of Angels! I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, and attended Illinois State University Class of 2021. I studied Education in grades 1-6 with a Minor in Spanish and an endorsement in English as Second Language. Last year I was a sixth-grade math teacher in Phoenix, AZ and this summer I was a first-grade summer school teacher in Los Alamitos. CA. In my free time, I enjoy paddleboarding, teaching yoga at local studios, hiking, baking, and traveling. I am so blessed to join the OLQA community and share my compassion, dedication, faith, and knowledge of Mathematics and Roman Catholicism with all students. I am looking forward to meeting my sixth graders, and their families, and exploring Southern California!
MEET ROBYN BASEHART (Long-Term Teacher 5A & 3B)
Hello OLQA. My name is Robyn Basehart and I am excited to be joining the teaching team this year. Sharing my Catholic faith as a teacher in the Diocese of Orange and the Archdiocese of Baltimore has been a blessing for almost twenty years. Helping students deepen their relationship with God while providing a positive, educational experience in a nurturing and supportive environment is my joy. My husband, Art, and I have six children and five grandchildren. We love sharing time at the beach and playing and watching sports. Our family time is a blessing! I am looking forward to a great school year!
MEET ANGELA FORD (Spanish Grades 4-8)
I am so excited to be teaching Spanish here at Our Lady Queen of Angels. I grew up in San Francisco and have been in Orange County for fifteen years now. I received my BA from the University of California, San Diego, and my teaching credential from San Francisco State University. I have taught all grade levels from Kindergarten to 12th grade and have taught in California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. At my previous job, I taught junior and high school students so I am looking forward to working with the younger students again. I love to paint, scuba dive, bike, dance, and sing. I try to bring fun and laughter into the classroom as much as I can. I can't wait to meet everyone!
MEET OUR NEW INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS
MEET PATTY BLAIN (KA Instructional Assistant)
Hi, I’m Patricia Blain, and I am excited to join the OLQA community as the new instructional assistant in KA with Mrs. King. I am a native Californian and a first-generation American. I’ve been a teacher with the Diocese of Orange for over 30 years. I began my career in first grade at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic School in Dana Point. I then worked at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School in Rancho Santa Margarita for 27 years, primarily as a second-grade teacher, but more recently, as the first and third-grade small group math and reading teacher. Before becoming a teacher, I owned flower shops in the San Gabriel Valley area and enjoyed being a part of the group that decorated the Colosseum for the 1984 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

I’m married to my delightful husband Robert, who is in the bicycle business. We have two daughters. Hope, who is an attorney in Newport Beach, and Allison, who is a recent college graduate planning to work in HR. Last October, Hope married her college sweetheart, and we welcomed our son-in-law Anthony into our family.

After working as a teacher for over 30 years, I am stepping back to enjoy semi-retirement as an instructional assistant.
MEET CHRISTINA O'BECK (Instructional Assistant)
Hello! I am Christina O'Beck and currently residing in Costa Mesa. I grew up in Newport Beach and attended Newport Harbor High School, and then continued my education at the University of Michigan, graduating in 2018 with an undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Arts; majoring in Sociology with a subplan in law, justice, and social change. I also played Division 1 Women's Water Polo at U of M during my four years there. Water polo is still a significant part of my life as I coach for Newport Harbor High School and Newport Beach Water Polo Club. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, spending time with friends/family, and traveling. I am very excited to be a part of the OLQA community!
