We have not published a newsletter since February of this year. The reason? Well there have been some developments.....read on:

"Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty Free at last!!

We are now a truly
INDEPENDENT
Catholic Community

On April 20th of this year, our community voted unanimously to separate from the Catholic Apostolic Church in North America. At this point it is not worth neither our time, nor yours to relive the circumstance that led to the split. Suffice it to say, that arrogant autocratic authoritarianism is by no means the sole purview of the Roman Catholic Church. To put it succinctly, CACINA was NOT as billed.

In addition, since our inception as a community, we have had little support from the CACINA national church. To the contrary, we have received buckets full of antagonism and obstruction.

And so, in hindsight, we as a group see leaving CACINA as a blessing. Our dear Lady has untied a huge bothersome knot, and we are now free to pursue our mission to build the church.

Although we have been in contact with several, we are in no hurry to join another jurisdiction. For now, and with Our Lady's help, we will use our time to grow our community.
As you have most likely heard, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops voted on the 17th of this month to deny the President of the United States, and any other politician, Holy communion, if they will not support public policy on matters such as abortion, that the bishops want.

We believe that is a blasphemous weaponizing of the Eucharist for political gain. These same men who protected pedophiles for decades, and have excused themselves for doing so, now want to withhold the body of Christ to a good man like Joe Biden. His sin is apparently greater than theirs.

It's reprehensible. We decided enough is enough.

For the two weeks leading up to the vote, we ran the banner advert above on the National Catholic Reporter's (NCR) website. NCR had been running article after article about the anticipated action by these bishops.

So we decided to make a statement. The banner when clicked, went to our website and to this statement from our community:
We have gotten quite a response.

As of today we have had - wait for it !! - 1776 hits to our website!! Although we received 3 nasty-grams, about 12 people sent us complimentary messages and asked to join our mailing list. One generous person made a hefty donation.

Thank you to all who supported us.

Now, that the bishops have actually voted, we will see if the "Beast" limo suddenly pulls up some Sunday outside of our church!!

Who knows......

Our Lady Undoer of Knots is a faith community in the
Federation of Christian Ministries
Our Lady Undoer of Knots Inclusive Catholic Community is the Baltimore Chapter DignityUSA, the oldest and largest association of LGBTQi Catholics. We are the first chapter of Dignity in Baltimore since the 1980's. Dignity Baltimore is a "ministry" within our community.

If you know of LGBTQi catholics in the Baltimore area, please let them know about us.
President Biden’s executive order extending civil rights protections to LGBTQ+ people is a major milestone for equality and a matter of Christian justice.

The Senate must pass the Equality Act, which will finally provide consistent, explicit non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people.
We must cement these protections into law NOW. Call your Senator today!

PS: The Catholic Bishops oppose this law. Go figure!
