OM's BIG Parade
Wednesday July 4th,
10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Join your neighbors in a fun parade to celebrate the 4th of July! Meet up at the Oakland Mills Village Center at 9:45 am. Bring your stroller, your wagon or just yourself and walk along the sidewalks and paths. Most importantly, decorate whatever you are bringing to celebrate all who make up the village of Oakland Mills.

The Ice Rink, located in the Oakland Mills Village Center, is open for skating! Here's the public skate session schedule: 
Monday-Thursday: noon-2 p.m.
Friday: 3:30-5:30 p.m., 8-10 p.m. (with live DJ)
Saturday: 2-4 p.m.
Sunday: 1:15-3:15 p.m., 7:30-9:30 p.m.
 
The rink will close for the summer on June 10th.

Exploring Columbia on Foot 
Columbia Association's (CA) series of outdoor walks explores the lakes, streams, woodlands and wildlife of Columbia. Each walk is about two miles long, with four to five stops along the way. Registration is not required.

The walks are led by award-winning environmental author Ned Tillman, who guides discussions on the nature, history and future of these wonderful outdoor settings, including the plans for them and challenges they may face in the near future.

End of the School Year Middle School TakeOver

Community Chess Day
June 11th, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Barn
Anyone can play - beginners and masters, young and old, and any level or age in-between.Play for bragging rights. We'll provide boards or you may bring your own. Light refreshments will be served.

CA Middle School & Teen Advisory Pool Parties
Both parties will be held at the Locust Park Pool in the village of Long Reach ( 8995 Lambkin Lane). Registration is required for this free event.

The Middle School pool party will be held on
Friday, July 20th from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. Register by 5:00 p.m. on July 19th HERE.

The High School pool party will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. Register by 5:00 p.m. on Aug. 2nd HERE.
   
CheckMates Chess Club:  Play or Get Played
The Howard County Police Department teams up with students to teach the fundamental moves of chess.  Skill level doesn't matter, and all students are welcome, whether you are a beginner or a master.  CheckMates Chess Club meets every Monday from 4 - 6 pm. at the Barn (YTC).  Students must be registered with YTC to join.
