Effective Saturday, June 15, 2019
, Howard County's Department of Public Works' Bureau of Environmental Services will no longer accept curbside recycling placed in plastic bags. Items should be placed loose in the county assigned recycling bin/cart. The Alpha Ridge Landfill Residents' Convenience Center will also stop accepting recyclable items bagged in plastic.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a charity that builds beds for kids who don't have their own. If your child or a child you know is sleeping on the floor, a sofa, an air mattress, or with other siblings or parents, you can request a bed by visiting www.shpbeds.org/request-bed or emailing [email protected]. SHP delivers the bunks/single beds along with new mattresses, pillows, sheets, and comforters.

Important Information for all CA assessed property residents:
Residents of CA-assessed property must have a Columbia Card to receive access to CA sports and fitness facilities/pools if you do not have CA club memberships and want to participate in free activities. CA cards can be obtained at no cost at CA's Customer Member Service Center, located at 6310 Hillside Court. Address verification in the form of a driver's license or imprinted personal check and dependent children's birth certificates are required. For more information call 410-730-1801.

Second Sunday Swim - 3 free days
CA residents have the opportunity to visit CA's 23 outdoor pools for free on the second Sunday of each month: JUNE 9, JULY 14, and AUG 11.
Residents of CA-assessed property must have a CA card to participate in free swim Sundays.
