Greetings, Oakland Mills residents, and welcome to the Covenants Corner!
Here are this week's Covenants Corner tips:
- Snow and Ice Removal: Keep in mind, it is your responsibility to remove the snow on the sidewalk adjacent to your property as well as the driveway and apron, per County Code section 18.402(h) of the Howard County Code (http://bit.ly/1A1y4eE): "the owner of the property abutting a sidewalk in a public right-of-way is responsible for removing snow from the sidewalk within 48 hours after the snow has fallen."
- Gardens and Landscaping: Are you getting ready to plant your garden and landscape your lawn for spring? Do you know if you need to a apply for your new bird bath (yes you do!) or for your vegetable garden (maybe)? Take a minute to review the Architectural Guidelines (section 17 for gardens, 24 for landscaping). Still have questions? Contact Carrie Wenholz at [email protected]
- Selling your home: Are you looking to sell your house this spring or summer? Obtaining a Letter of Compliance from the village office should be one of your first steps. Letters of Compliance can be requested by a seller or the sellers' real estate agent. More information can be found here.
If you have a specific question about any of these or other topics, email us at [email protected]. Your question may be highlighted in a future issue of the e-news!
