Greetings, Oakland Mills residents, and welcome to the Covenants Corner!
We all want to do our part to keep the village and our homes beautiful. To that end, the Oakland Mills Covenants Team will regularly highlight different items that relate to the Oakland Mills covenants - everything from violations to exterior alteration applications to Letters of Compliance. Here are this week's Covenants Corner tips:
- Holiday Lights & Decorations: We love festive holiday lights and decorations, but did you know they must be removed within 30 days after the holiday or event? (See items 25.4 and 26.5.7 in the OM Architectural Guidelines.)
- Exterior Alteration Applications: You should submit your application well in advance of when you would like to begin a project. The Residential Architectural Committee (RAC) will then meet to review the application (application deadlines and RAC meetings dates can be found by scrolling down to the bottom of this page on the Oakland Mills website). RAC meetings are open to the public and are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Exterior Alteration questions should be sent to Carrie Wenholz at [email protected].
- Letters of Compliance: Are you looking to sell a home in Columbia? Obtaining a Letter of Compliance from the village office should be one of your first steps. Letters of Compliance can be requested by a seller or the sellers' real estate agent. More information can be found here.
If you have a specific question about any of these or other topics, email us at
[email protected].
Your question may be highlighted in a future issue of the e-news!
