Beds for Children in Need

Permanent Collection Bin located in the lobby of The Other Barn. Needed: new twin-sized bedding sets, sheet sets, and comforters.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a charity that builds beds for kids who don't have their own. If your child or a child you know is sleeping on the floor, a sofa, an air mattress, or with other siblings or parents, you can request a bed by visiting www.shpbeds.org/request-bed or emailing md-howardco@shpbeds.org. SHP delivers the bunks/single beds along with new mattresses, pillows, sheets, and comforters.

Oakland Mills Village Offices Closed on July 4th
The Other Barn will be closed from July 4th through July 6th. We will reopen on Monday, July 8th.
Howard County 4th of July Closures
County Offices & Services: Howard County Government offices, courts, animal shelter, 50+ centers and Alpha Ridge Landfill will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Thursday.
Transportation: The Regional Transportation Agency (RTA) will operate on a "Sunday" schedule. For more information on RTA, call 1-800-270-9553 or visit
www.transitrta.com. Howard County parking fees will not be enforced on Thursday, July 4.
Emergency services: The 9-1-1 Center, Police and Fire departments remain staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For emergencies, call 9-1-1; for non-emergencies, please call 410-313-2200.
County offices will re-open at regular business hours on Friday, July 5. For a complete list of closures, click

Important Information for all CA assessed property residents:
Residents of CA-assessed property must have a Columbia Card to receive access to CA sports and fitness facilities/pools if you do not have CA club memberships and want to participate in free activities. CA cards can be obtained at no cost at CA's Customer Member Service Center, located at 6310 Hillside Court. Address verification in the form of a driver's license or imprinted personal check and dependent children's birth certificates are required. For more information call 410-730-1801.
Second Sunday Swim - 2 free days
CA residents have the opportunity to visit CA's 23 outdoor pools for free on the second Sunday of each month: JULY 14, and AUG 11.
Residents of CA-assessed property must have a CA card to participate in free swim Sundays.
