Open Music Sessions

Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, wi
ll be kicking-off her 2017 "Covering the Movements Changing America" here in Denver with a benefit for Denver Open Media and KFFR 83.3 FM, two of Colorado's top nonprofit media organizations.

Goodman will deliver a keynote next door at Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center (721 Santa Fe Drive in Denver) at 7:30pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

The talk will also be streaming live  upstairs (FREE admission!) at Denver Open Media (700 Kalamath Street) and on Denver Open Media channel 57 and 881 and through the livestream link. Enjoy free food and drink while you watch the talk, thanks to Sexy Pizza and Crazy Mountain Brewing Company.

The talk will be followed by FREE  after-party and special Open Music Sessions, featuring musical performances from 2MX2 a nd Lolita and the hilarious stylings of local comedian Cody Spyker, live in Denver Open Media's Studio A, 8:45 - 10:00 pm!

Video Client - Colorado Department of Education

Each year the Colorado Department of Education
 honors an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled, K-12 teacher as Teacher of the Year. This person represents the entire profession in Colorado for the duration of their term.

Our production team here at Open Media Foundation had the pleasure of creating a video that highlights the inspiring work of Sean Wybrant, a Career and Technical Education teacher at William J. Palmer High School, in Colorado Springs District 11, who was named the 2017 Colorado Teacher of the Year. Please enjoy our team's fantastic work where Sean Wybrant explains his student-centered teaching philosophy, which helps students innovate with technology!

Photography and WordPress Class Coming to OMF!

The month of May will feature some first-time education offerings for Open Media Foundation.

The Intro to Digital Photography class will cover the basics of shooting great photos using manual controls. Taught by Nikon instructor Bob Pearson, class time will also be devoted to getting the most out of your digital camera.

Web designer Charlie Stanard will lead Custom Website Development with WordPress. This class will cover the basics of using the WordPress dashboard and also offer an introduction into HTML and CSS coding.

Sony A7s Mirrorless DSLR-style Camera Body ($40 rental with membership) The Sony Alpha a7S mirrorless digital camera features a full-frame 12.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor to enable notable video and still image quality with an expansive dynamic range, low noise, and extended sensitivity to ISO 409600. Intendence Film Festival

The Intendence Film Festival (IFF) is now accepting submissions through early May 2017.

IFF will be screening films from Colorado and the rest of the world on Friday and Saturday, June 23 - 24, at Denver Open Media (DOM). Categories are: Animation, Art-Experimental, Feature, Short, Documentary, Documentary-Short, Music Video, Fantasy-Science Fiction-Horror, and Webisode.

DOM members and students/youth get $10 off!

Submissions can be made through withoutabox.com or filmfeeway.com.
