Last week, approximately 35 OML members attended the Beautification Workshop at the Community Development Learning Center on the campus of Rose State College, in Midwest City.  The workshop featured five speakers, with topics ranging from beautification and how it relates to code enforcement to over-all beautification of your community.  Event organizer and OML Programs Manager, Cheryl Adams, said the goal of the workshop was to enlighten community leaders on the many ways a community can become enhanced through beautification projects. Thanks to all who attended!
RSVP Today! Municipal Government Day at the Capitol is March 27th
Plan now to attend this popular half-day event that will take place at the Oklahoma State Capitol on March 27th. Hosted by OML and the Mayors Council of Oklahoma, you will have the opportunity to network with other municipal officials, hear the latest information on legislative issues, visit with your legislative representatives about municipal issues and meet the student winner of the "If I Were Mayor" essay contest. This event is free for OML members and lunch will be served.
OML Announces New Field Representative Program
To better serve its membership across Oklahoma, OML has begun a new Field Representative program, which divides the state into eleven districts.    Each district is led by an OML staff member, who will be the point of contact whenever a community has a need, question or concern.  You are invited to be part of something new and exciting! Join the OML Field Staff Team for your inaugural Regional Round Table meeting.

OML to Participate in Cities United
The Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) is pleased to announce its participation in the monthly Cities United meetings.  Cities United, an outgrowth of the Tulsa area Vision 2025 initiative, is a monthly meeting where community officials from the region meet to network and discuss issues and challenges they are facing within their communities.
Next New Officials Institute June 14th in Midwest City
On June 14th OML will host a New Officials Institute at Rose State College in Midwest City. Throughout the year OML provides an intensive educational program specifically tailored for newly elected and appointed officials as well as experienced officials who want to keep up-to-date on municipal issues. If you can't make this one, there is also a class on June 28th at Tulsa Tech, Lemley Campus in Tulsa.
