The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management wanted us to let our municipalities know that they appreciate all the time and hard work the local officials and emergency managers did in collecting and reporting damages to OEM. They wanted us to pass along a summary of the damages that they received for the June events.



After comparing reported damages against each county's Fiscal Year 2026 FEMA county threshold, 19 counties currently meet or exceed their individual threshold based on local damages, co-op damages, or a combination of both.

Those counties are:

Atoka, Beaver, Caddo, Cherokee, Choctaw, Cimarron, Creek, Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Hughes, Johnston, Kiowa, McClain, Murray, Nowata, Okfuskee, Pushmataha, and Washita.

Total damages reported for those counties are:

• Co-op damages: $2,035,093.55
• Local damages: $1,751,336.01
• Total: $3,836,429.56

The Fiscal Year 2026 state threshold is $7,681,144.82. Based on the reported damages the State will not be requesting a major disaster declaration.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have issued a Public Service Announcement to warn critical infrastructure asset owners and operators that malicious cyber actors are conducting cyber attacks targeting Operational Technology devices, including Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), specifically MicroLogix 1100 and 1400 series. Since 27 July 2026, Water and Wastewater Sector (WWS) utility companies in at least seven states have reported incidents to the FBI, and some of that activity degraded water operations. While the FBI has only observed this behavior with the referenced Rockwell PLCs, similar considerations should also be made with other branded PLCs.
