The OML District 2 Board seat has become vacant as of January 9, 2019 due to the Honorable Jason Nichols being elected as OML Vice President. Nominations will be received until Friday, February 22, 2019 and will be presented to the OML Board of Directors at their next meeting.

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures.

State law requires each person elected or an appointed for the first time as an officer of a municipality to attend an institute for municipal officials. The statute is codified at Title 11 O.S., Section 8-114.

The Placemaking Conference Returns

The Placemaking Conference  is a biennial event featuring leading experts on topics in economic development, healthy communities, city planning and governance, architecture and design, district management, public spaces and parks, and more.

The event will be held Monday, April 1, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Catlett Music Center in Norman, OK. More information can be found at the IQC website.
