It's time to renew your Municipal Clerks and Treasurers membership for the 2025-2026 year and sign up for the July 31st MC&T Online Training Class.

OML Annual Conference Scholarship

Applications Now Open

We are excited to announce that we will have a limited number of scholarships available for the 2025 OML Conference to be held September 9th-11th in Oklahoma City.


To be eligible for the scholarship, the recipient must be employed by an OML member municipality or an elected official of an OML member municipality with a population of 2,500 or less. Priority will go to recipients who are first-time attendees, or who have not attended an OML Conference in the past five years.


The scholarship will cover up to $500 for one delegate and up to $800 for two delegates.



To apply, please fill out the scholarship application by August 20th. Winners will be notified by August 27th and further details will be given at that time.

Conference Awards Call For Nominations! 

New Tribal/Municipal Partnership Award

Nomination information for Mayor of the Year, Don Rider, Jeff Shockley, Innovations and Woman of the Year awards is now open on the conference website. Deadline for submission is August 1, 2025.


Also, there is a new award for 2025. Presented jointly by the Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) and the Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO), the Tribal Municipal Partnership Award honors outstanding collaboration between Oklahoma’s municipalities and Tribal Nations. This prestigious award recognizes elected officials, municipal staff, and Tribal leaders who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, and commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that enhance community well-being and governance.

City Hall Selfie Day is August 12th

City Hall Selfie Day is Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025. Organized by ELGL, City Hall Selfie Day is a celebration of public service showcasing pride in local government institutions. ELGL is excited to celebrate the 10th annual City Hall Selfie Day in 2025! Every year since 2016, government employees, elected officials, members of the media, and community members participate in the event across the United States and around the world. Community Leadership Development Class 13

Now Accepting Applications

OML’s Community Leadership Development (CLD) program is currently accepting applications for both class members and host cities for the upcoming Class 13.

 

Community Leadership Development (CLD) preserves and enhances training and educational opportunities for municipal officials and community leaders. The focus of the program is to equip the participants with the leadership skills and knowledge they need to make a positive impact on their local communities.

 

During the CLD program, class members will meet for a total of six times in towns and cities across the state. At each class meeting, participants will interact with the host community as well as gain important leadership skills in a fun, hands on learning environment.

Pre-Conference Workshop Addressing Homelessness

Only Two New Officials Institutes Left in 2025

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflicts of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures.

Remember, you don't have to be a new official to attend. Everyone is welcome!


The NOI offers 7 hours of General Education Credit and .5 hours ethics through the CLE program.

MCO Board District 9 Call for Nominations

Are you interested in serving on the Mayors Council of Oklahoma Board of Directors? Please submit your letter of interest and resume to Oklahoma Municipal League, 201 NE 23rd St. Attn: Nancee Morris, or email nancee@oml.org. Deadline is August 1st.

 

Requirements to serve on the board include being a current mayor of any OML member municipality, and a member in good standing of MCO.
