The Oklahoma Municipal League has recently promoted Christian Rinehart to General Counsel.

"We are thrilled to announce that Christian has been promoted to General Counsel,” said Mike Fina, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Municipal League. “Christian works with cities and towns of all sizes from across the State of Oklahoma on a daily basis on inquiries including complex municipal legal issues. Christian was very involved in the process of assisting communities with the American Rescue Plan Act, and he is also an integral part of the legislative team. We are very fortunate to have Christian at OML.”

Rinehart is a fourth-generation attorney who hails from El Reno, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and then received his Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

We have scheduled the next round of OML Regional Council meetings. Our Regional Councils serve as an Advisory Board to the OML Board of Directors, and play an important role in our Legislative Efforts. The Regional Councils allow OML to have more representation from all of our cities and towns across the State, and give our members an opportunity to be more involved.

These meetings will give you an opportunity to share what is happening in your municipality and talk to others in your area to share thoughts and ideas. We will give an update on Interim Studies happening at the Legislature and talk about our Legislative Priorities before we invite your local legislators to join us for lunch.

The OML District 11 Board seat is currently vacant due to Kelly Parker, Mayor of Alva being elected as Vice President to the OML Board. Nominations for District 11 will be received until Friday, October 17, 2025. The Board of Directors will vote to appoint a new District 11 board member at the next OML board meeting.

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflicts of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures.
