FIRST LOVE FIRE!

Greetings!

The apostle Paul never got over being saved.

And neither should we.

We easily tire of earthly things. A new restaurant. New clothes. A different place to live. Even the newness of marriage can eventually feel familiar.

And sadly, Christians can lose their first love for Jesus—often without even noticing it.

After our One Minute Witness seminars, pastors sometimes tell me, “This was an eye-opener for me.”

They remember when they were zealous for evangelism. But gradually, the busyness of administering a church, caring for people, preparing sermons, and raising a family crowded out their zeal for souls.

Then something happens.

The fire gets stirred again.

They tell us the seminar challenged them to reprioritize their lives and return to why they entered ministry in the first place.

Paul taught us some secrets for staying passionately in love with Jesus:

Dying daily to ourselves.

Devotion to prayer and fasting.

An undying focus on evangelism.

Relational accountability and ministry.

But I believe one reason Paul never got over being saved was simple:

He kept telling people about the One who saved him.

Paul repeatedly shared what Jesus had done for him. He remembered who he had been, how Jesus dramatically interrupted his life, and how grace completely changed him.

And that’s one of the beauties of the One Minute Witness.

Every time you share your faith-story, you’re not only telling someone else what Jesus has done.

You’re reminding yourself.

You remember your BC—your life Before Christ.

You remember your TP—your Turning Point, when Jesus became real to you.

And you remember your AD—the After Difference Jesus has made in your life.

You’re rehearsing the goodness of God!

The more Paul poured the Good News into others, the more his own fire burned.

And that’s how it works with us.

The more we share our faith, the more we want to. Evangelism doesn’t just help them.

It changes us.

But here’s the urgent part: people around us still don’t know Jesus.

They are in our families. Our neighborhoods. Our workplaces. We pass them in stores, airports, restaurants, and coffee shops.

And we don’t know how many more opportunities we’ll have.

So this isn’t the time for a silent Christianity. The Gospel is too good. Eternity is too important. And people are too valuable.

Don’t wait until you feel more confident. Don’t wait until you know more Scripture. Don’t wait for someone else to speak.

You already have something powerful:

Your story.

Ask the Holy Spirit today:

“Who needs to hear my One Minute Witness?”

Then look. Listen. And when He opens the door, walk through it. Someone told you.

Now it’s your turn to tell someone else.

And while you’re helping ignite a fire for Jesus in their heart, God may rekindle the first-love fire in yours.

The more urgently we carry His fire to others, the brighter it burns within us.
