Fly Quiet Committee Update
The ONCC Fly Quiet Committee met on July 2, 2019 at the Bensenville Village Hall. CDA Commissioner Jamie Rhee affirmed the City of Chicago's commitment to balancing noise around the airfield, and stated that the City would continue to work as a partner with the ONCC to through the Fly Quiet 21 process.

FAA Regional Administrator Rebecca MacPherson addressed the committee to explain the safety concerns of the FAA regarding potential runway configurations for FQ21.

O'Hare Nighttime Construction Awareness

At the June 7 ONCC General Meeting, the Commission received an update on Nighttime Construction projects taking place on the airfield this summer.

These include:
  • Runway 9R/27L - Runway Status Lights
  • Runway 9C/27C Construction
  • Runway 4L/22R Reconstruction

Chair Arlene Juracek presented the welcome letter she sent to Mayor Lori Lightfoot, as well as the correspondence sent to O’Hare area Congressional representatives requesting an update on the initiatives of the Quiet Skies caucus and inviting them to attend a future ONCC meeting.
