At the May 3 General Meeting, Frank Grimaldi, Deputy Commissioner of Aviation for the Chicago Department of Aviation provided the Commission with an update on the status of construction projects at O’Hare.
New Weather Features on WebTrak
WebTrak is a tool that tracks the flight activity into and out of Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway International Airport, along with information about each aircraft.
A new weather feature is now available in the system that includes a rainfall layer option, which illustrates how weather events such as thunderstorms can impact aircraft positions.
The ONCC Technical Committee met on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. The Committee received the final revision of the ANMS noise complaint page. The new page includes data based on the City's new Noise Complaint System. The Committee also reviewed the 2018 Annual Fly Quiet Report. CDA Consultants gave a presentation on "Go-Arounds," a standard procedure at airports that is performed if a pilot is not completely satisfied that the requirements are in place for a safe landing.

The ONCC Technical Committee met on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The Committee received an update on airfield changes that were effective April 25, 2019. CDA consultants provided a review of the address verification process for the new Noise Complaint procedure.
CDA staff presented the 2019 Terminal Area Forecast and Annual Airport Operations data for 2018.
CDA Consultants also reviewed the Quarter 1 2019 Fly Quiet Report and a new weather feature included with the WebTrak flight tracking system (see story above). Read More
Fly Quiet Committee Update
The Fly Quiet Committee met on April 23, 2019. CDA consultants provided a draft of 19 possible runway configurations to the Committee. The Committee’s next steps include finalizing feasible runway configurations and piecing together alternatives with runway preferences.
The ad hoc Governance Committee met on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. The committee reviewed two sections of the ONCC bylaws: Officers and Committees. They also reviewed the current Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Chicago that will come up for a vote by the City Council near the end of this year. The Nominating Committee requested bylaw revisions to ONCC leadership and succession.
