WHO'S THAT MEMBER BUILDING

Have to be smart to guess this one right!

The winner of last week's business was Jen Carlson with Buffalo Evangelical Free Church on Hwy 25 North! Gotta give Jen a little run for her money - she has guessed first 3 out of the last 6 times! Glad she is eager to read our newsletter!

Speaking of, please do scroll down to the bottom to be sure you get everything. I will work harder to make these just a few scrolls of your mouse!

Email me your guess at Sue@BuffaloChamber.org
GOOD MORNING BUFFALO 8:00 a.m.
THIS FRIDAY AT CITY HALL

MEET OUR CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS!

This is the one time of year we invite our Chamber members to come and meet the City of Buffalo leaders and the leaders of our many civic organizations in town. It's a good time of year to hear what they are doing around the holidays, or for that matter, all year long. There may be a way you or your business can get involved and join them in some community service project.

Note the Friday date vs our usual Good Morning Buffalo Thursdays! There will be coffee and treats! A great warm fuzzy to kick off the holiday season!

A save the date for our next Good Morning Buffalo also in November at Dunn Brothers on November 21st at 8 a.m. Get the freshest cup of coffee and yummy treats there and learn what's new!

Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to work with someone? Why some people just don't seem to 'click'? Dr. Sicora and the Insights profile have some answers. This training will help you to understand why you work well with some coworkers and help you connect better with others. This training will be great for anyone who leads of team of 1 or 21! It will help you discover how to be a better leader - and how to interact with others and their leadership style. It helps individuals and teams realize their full potential.

Dr. Sicora, a Buffalo native, is providing this training at a deeply discounted rate! He is excited to share his expertise with his local Chamber member businesses and we are excited that he is offering us his time for free! We are only paying for the cost of the assessment tool!
The training is an afternoon and morning, so that the assessment results can be discussed on day 2. It's a time commitment well worth it to get training that won't often come your way! I would like to see all department heads of companies come - or if you are just a small business owner with a small staff - or if you do it all! It's reveals a lot about your style and interpersonal communications with those similar and different than yourself!

COMFORT KEEPERS
1200 Hwy 25 N #108
Buffalo
763-450-1500

How many of us have parents who could use some help maintaining their independence? Use help around the house with their daily routines? That's what Comfort Keepers does! Besides light cleaning, laundry and meal prep they also play games and provide excellent companion care! Though most are CNA certified, they provide the things that the in home health care providers don't, even respite care, so the family caregivers can have a well deserved break.

The Buffalo location is one of 10 in the state -with the nearest office being in St. Cloud. We are excited to have them expand this way to provide services in the Buffalo area. Paige McFarland is the company representative here who is filling our local needs. She does some fill in work herself!

They are always looking for people to be a PT or FT employee as well as people to serve! If you have a family member who could use their services, give Paige a call!

MILESTONE MEDICARE
105 2nd St S

Milestone Medicare is one of Buffalo Chambers newer members, but thought it best to highlight him now as the window of Medicare open enrollment is now! They specialize in helping Medicare beneficiaries and their family members navigate the many Medicare plans available.  Milestone Medicare exists specifically to guide those who are eligible to the best plan, taking into consideration the specific doctors you want to see, current prescriptions, and financial situations…and the best part their help is offered at no cost to you!

Whether you are just becoming eligible at age 65 or want to add an additional line of coverage to help limit out of pocket expenses for prescription drug costs, co-pays and co-insurance; you’ll want to schedule an appointment and sit down with Chris McClory soon. Medicare open enrollment for existing Medicare beneficiaries is from October 15th-December 7th and if you’re just turning 65, you have 3 months prior to your birthday to enroll.

Remember, if you move to a new state or community, check to be sure if changes need to be made to your current Medicare coverage. Milestone Medicare will take a look at your current plan and advise you as to how to move forward.

Ask your loved ones and friends over 65 if they are enrolled in a Medicare plan that suits ALL their needs, and if not, schedule an appointment TODAY with Chris or Natalie McClory!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR.....

Do you have a creative team? Want a fun after work team building project?

Put their skills to use and decorate one of only 8 wreaths yet available to be raffled off at our holiday Deck the Halls event on Saturday, December 7th. The businesses that did this last year had a lot of fun! This year the wreaths are faux - so no more pricking of your fingers and they will last a lifetime - making them more desirable for our raffle buyers as well!

Thanks to PenRad for their annual donation. We have booked live reindeer to be here in 2020 thanks to their support! Always thankful our members help make these community events grow!
SPEAKING OF THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR.....

If you would like to give a gift from Buffalo to a friend or family member out of state to remind them of home or of you, we do have these "Buffalo State of Mind" tees available at the Chamber office for $30.

They are very nice non wrinkle tri-blend fabric. Would make a quality Christmas gift! These are women's sizes with v-necks from small to XL.

With every purchase, $10 goes towards Tourism efforts to have more Buffalo souvenirs available for those who visit our wonderful community!

GOOD TO KNOW

If you plan on taking 2020 to the next level, you need to terminate all of your excuses in the last 64 days of 2019. That's right, you have about two months to shift your thoughts and re-focus your actions so you can own the next year.

Every day, I meet business leaders with more excuses than solutions. "I don't have enough time to create a plan." "I am not able to motivate my team." "We can't get our sales numbers up."
Do yourself a favor and become the Leadership Warrior you and your team need.

In the next 64 days:
  1. Complete your strategic plan - filled with all of the short-term and long-term goals that will take your company to new and exciting destinations.
  2. Share your Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values (Your Identity) with your team. Do it at meetings, during one-on-one appointments, and in all of your correspondence. Focus on WHO you are, not just WHAT you do.
  3. With your sales team, harness the power of each day by scheduling your priorities - Phone Zone, Face-to-Face, Networking, and Follow-Up.

The next 64 days are yours, if you choose to Think GREAT!

Think GREAT,
