Kitchen Dog Theater is pleased to present OCCUPY #S17, a performance to mark the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. This FREE, ONE-NIGHT-ONLY event will feature monologues crafted from interviews with Occupy activists conducted throughout the last year. Kitchen Dog's presentation is part of LET ME ASCERTAIN YOU: OCCUPY #S17, a national performance event being organized by The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theater company. Groups from across the nation will gather on September 17 to share in the storytelling of this historic movement.
Performers will include KDT Artistic Company Members Rhonda Boutt�, Michael Federico, Liza Marie Gonzalez, Max Hartman, Jenny Ledel and Karen Parrish, along with guest artists Christopher Dontrell Piper and Rhianna S. Mack. Additional performers to be announced soon!
Founded in 2001 by Steven Cosson, The Civilians has created twelve original works that have been produced Off Broadway and in over 40 cities nationally and internationally. The company's recent work, In the Footprint, was included in year-end "Best of 2010" lists in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Time Out New York. The Civilians have received numerous awards, including an Obie in 2004 in recognition of its accomplishments in its first two seasons of work.
