Intergenerational Daycare
|
|
During the month of October adult participants and children bonded with one another as they celebrated Fall and explored new activities. In celebration of Fall they went to a Pumpkin Patch in the patio area. During the pumpkin patch participants and children explored pumpkins, raked fall leaves, watered a corn maze and made paper plate pumpkins. On Fridays, our Intergenerational Program participated in music and movement activities that allowed them to explore different musical instruments such as drums, shakers, and tambourines. To enjoy the scenery and weather Fall has to offer participants and children went on a nature walk. During their walk they were able to stomp on leaves, pick flowers and explore a new environment. Our Intergenerational Program also had special guest visits from police officers and 2 families that presented 2 new books and activities.

|
Attention small businesses located in City of Los Angeles’ Council Districts 2, 6 or 7. ONEgeneration’s Emissions Reduction Program is launching an initiative to help small businesses save energy and money, by paying for the installation of efficient lighting, equipment and appliances.
If you are thinking of getting new efficient lighting for your business, or new efficient equipment or appliances (ex: air conditioner, washing machine, etc…) or of converting your old gas stove or water heater to electric, then let ONEgeneration help you with the costs of installation. We can also assist you in applying for business rebates from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

LET ME LIVE MY LIFE AS I NEED TO
a poem by Norman Molesko
Let me live my life with my feelings, thoughts and activities.
Let me express myself, though you may not agree with me.
I will listen to you, if what you say makes sense to me.
Let me appreciate my own unique gratifications.
Let me enjoy the beauty and goodness in each day.
If I become socially disconnected, I could become
depressed and could live an unhealthy, shorter life.
Please let me live my life. This implies keeping my spirits up.
