The Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative (NSI):

A conversation about Sustained Collaboration

Learn about the various legal structures that can support a collaboration, the times in an organization’s life cycle when sustained collaboration can be a useful strategic tool, and how to get started. Hear from Jenna Hauss, CEO of ONEgeneration, about her experience in exploring two strategic affiliations, and what she has learned in the process. Attendees will come away with a strong understanding of their strategic options and how NSI funding and resources can support the work of exploring, planning, and implementing collaboration agreements.

Intergenerational Month

In celebration of Intergenerational Month during September, the children and seniors of ONEgeneration’s Daycare programs enjoyed several activities together including an exciting reptile show during which they had the opportunity to learn about various reptiles, and some even got to experience the excitement of touching them! They also were treated to special performance by Puppet Theater on Wheels of the story Goldie Locks and the 3 Bears and after the performance, the kids and the neighbors were able to explore the puppets together. Lastly, the friends came together for a Neighbor Social were they enjoyed a selection of their favorite snacks while sharing smiles, stories, and conversations. To further honor their bond, the children decorated poster boards as special gifts for their neighbors. Happy Intergenerational Month!

Resident Newsletter Poet

GESTURES

a poem by Norman Molesko

When you talk to another person,

just by sharing a “Hello”,

your two worlds meet,

your two worlds connect.

This mutuality I respect.

A nod, a wink, a smile,

a hand wave, a laugh, a word,

are commonplace gestures,

representing positive encounters.

Each gesture can be the stimulus,

the hair-trigger, used to reveal

another person’s soul.

Each gesture can let out the sunshine

found within the other person’s soul.
