ONErpm Announces Deal with Cult Records;
Promiseland's "Personal Reflektor" to be First Release of New Partnership

ONErpm, a leading provider of music distribution and marketing solutions, is adding another notable name to its roster. The company has just inked a deal with Cult Records, the the independent record company founded by Julian Casablancas, frontman for The Strokes and The Voidz.

The first release of the partnership comes on November 7 th from Australian-born musician Promiseland. "Personal Reflektor" is the mind-bending first single from his hotly-awaited debut album to be released on Cult Records in 2020. Self-described as "your imaginary friend come to life, uncontrollable like Pan's shadow...but with a heart of napalm," Promiseland has caught the ears and eyes of BBC, NME, i-D, DIY, DAZED, and more with a string of earth-shattering singles and extraordinary visuals. The eclectic artist has garnered so much attention for his chaotic live performances that Casablancas dubbed him "The Future Prince of Anarchy."

Casablancas launched Cult Records in 2009 as an independent vehicle for his own solo music, but the label quickly grew to include a wide array of other artists. The company's roster features a focus on music that is typically passed over by mainstream music media. Cult Records currently counts the Casablancas-led bands The Strokes and The Voidz among its diverse lineup of talent, as well as singer-songwriter Karen O and "beach goth" band The Growlers. Earlier this year, Cult Records marked its 10th anniversary with a celebration in the label's hometown of New York City.

Before setting off on solo projects, Casablancas formed The Strokes with guitarist Nick Valensi, drummer Fab Moretti, bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Their debut album, This Is It, was certified platinum in both the US and the UK, and the albums that followed caused the Strokes to be crowned as "the band that defined the 2000s." In 2013, Casablancas put together The Voidz, whose debut album Tyranny was named as one of NME's "Top 50 Albums of 2014."

"Looking forward to the new partnership with ONErpm for the next chapter of Cult Records," Casablancas said. "Look out for a lot of new, iconic, culture-shaping music on the way soon...no big deal."

"We are thrilled to partner with Julian and his amazing team as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of Cult Records," said Michelle Fantus, ONErpm's VP of A&R. "With such an iconic catalog and new releases in the pipeline, ONErpm will help amplify Cult Records' global reach through strategic marketing, promotion, and distribution efforts."
