VASS SNOWFEST WAS A GREAT SUCCESS

A giant thank you to everyone that came out to make the VASS SNOWFEST a wonderful success. A special thanks to all of our organizers and volunteers with a special shout out to Leila Jaakkola for taking on the role of chair this past year.

It was a day filled with laughter and giant smiles as we all got to enjoy a beautiful snowy Vancouver day. Topped off with a great apres party and awards ceremony with a special appearance by Michael Cameron from Grouse Mountain and inspiring words for VASS President Anne Bethune.

Awards were presented to Sikena Cline and Xina Morissette, each having been awarded FREE registration next season for being the top student fundraisers in the VASS-A-THON. And the top producing volunteer fundraiser in the VASS-A-THON was Greg Harder, who was awarded a gift from Arc'Teryx.

The Lorraine McLatchie Award was award to an entire family for the first time ever.... The Van Herk's: Lucas, Corey, Elan and Mike. This family has displayed everything the award stand for, having started a few years ago with Lucas taking lessons. And now with Elan and Mike as certified instructors, the entire family has reached a point where they can all go and ski together without VASS' assistance. Though we love having them around so much, I am hopeful they ski with VASS for years to come.

Congrats to all of our award winners and we will see you next season to play again. Below are all of the race times if anyone is curious about how fast they went through the course on the cut. It was great course and thank you to all that helped in setting it up and making it a safe fun event.

ASD/CI 2 Presentation - Mar 23 @8pm

Below is the link to sign up to attend the ASD/CI level 2 presentation which is a prerequisite for anybody doing their CADS ski or snowboard level 2 this season. It is also an incredibly great training for anybody that already has their level 2+ and or anybody else that just wants some more cool information about how to help some students with these complex diagnoses. You can find the registration link on Snowline under the training tab and the event list for March 23. It will be a zoom session Hope see you all there.
