MARCH ISSUE
Welcome to the Parent & Family Newsletter!
Susan Wolff, Office of University Relations

We are grateful to have our students back on campus. The timing of spring break was perfect for our faculty and studentsmost were needing that time of refreshment. Now to finish this semester well!

If your student is struggling with a course, please see the below information from the CAE--where to direct them for tutoring support. If it's in their best interest to drop a course, the final day to do so is March 31.

This is the time of year students are working with their academic advisor to get registered for fall classes. Encourage them to seek assistance in the Office of the Registrar (located in Burke) if they need to change their major, or they're uncertain how to connect with their advisor.

Along those lines, before fall housing sign-ups in April, students will need to be registered and in good standing financially.

If you or your student is unsure who to reach out to regarding an issue, please don't hesitate to email us at ONUcares@olivet.edu

I'm really excited about our second Parent Prayer Night via Zoomdetails are below. Please consider joining us!

A meaningful Spring Revival!

Rev. Samantha Chambo was used by the Lord in some special ways during our Revival serviceswe are so grateful for her time on our campus. You can view all past services here: CHAPEL

Our Associate Chaplain, Antonio Marshall, led a beautiful prayer over our students during revival:

Father we thank you that you are the bread of life. That although, in our flesh, we seek after things that are not of you, that you offer us all of your self and all of you is all we need.

Father, I thank you for the sacred invitation. I pray for and pray with anyone who has never tasted and seen that your son Jesus is good.

I pray, God, that they would know in these moments that not only has their sin been paid for, that their sin is forgiven. But God you offer the abundant life, that they no longer need to chase after the desires of their flesh. They can come to you and find life life to the full.

I pray for those who have made this decision at some point in their lives, but they find themselves in this moment craving things of this world. Going after things of this world and not really coming after you, God.

I pray that you would help shape all of our desires, by living into the disciplines, the rhythms that you give us. I pray that as you would do the transformative work of changing us. Giving us your fruits, the virtues of your spirit so that we can have love, joy, peace patience. That we can have self-control. That we can be transformed to live the life of love that you call us to.

We thank you that you offer us this in Jesus Christ. It’s in your name that we pray these things,

Amen.

School of Graduate and Continuing Studies
Last year the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies launched a pathway to a one-year accelerated master's degree and it was a huge success. More than 50 ONU graduates took advantage of this offer of a 1-year master's degree significantly discounted at $12,000!

We're excited to expand this opportunity to a limited number of you in our extended Olivet family!

As a parent of a current student, and/or alumnus/alumna, you have the choice of enrolling in the Master of Business Administration or Master of Organizational Leadership programs, both concentrated on strategic leadership.

Each degree is offered 100% online and can be completed in one year.

Beginning in August 2022, you will take two courses every eight weeks with a two-week break at the end of December 2022 and June 2023. We also have limited spaces available for the April 25 start if you would like to get started now!

An Encouraging Word from
Tammy Chenoweth
I remember when I was a student at this time of the year. Spring break was over and staying motivated to finish strong was very difficult. Maybe your student is struggling with the same thing and you are doing your best to help them stay motivated. They may feel weary and burdened.

Just this morning I read Matthew 11:28-30 regarding a personal situation, but I think it is fitting for your student. So this is my prayer for you and them:

Lord, help the weary and burdened students go to You and find rest. Help them to understand that You want to lift the burden off their spirits so they are refreshed and strong enough to finish their classes well. Help them to manage their time so they are not overwhelmed. Also help the parents to have wise and encouraging words to share with their student. You are a God of order and peace, and faithful to Your Word. Thank you!
