Welcome to our first OOMPH Student Newsletter. This newsletter is an opportunity for you to receive updates and tips on how to be successful academically, personally, and professionally. The goal is to centralize the program's communications in order for you to receive the most current information in a concise way. 

We would like to design this newsletter for OOMPH students. Please take a few minutes to complete our newsletter survey. Let us know what information you would like to receive and how frequently. For those who complete the survey, one lucky winner will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card. 

Important Announcements

Important Dates and Deadlines: 

• March 17, 2021 Tuition and registration fees: Third installment of Fee Payment Plan
• March 26, 2021 Academic & administrative holiday
• April 18, 2021 Fall 2021 Schedule of classes and enrollment appointments released
• April 26, 2021 Phase I enrollment for continuing students (admitted before Summer 2021)

Summer 2021 Enrollment

We encourage OOMPH students to be registered for no more than six units of courses for Summer 2021. Please login to your CalCentral portal to register for courses. You can also find the summer 2021 course schedule and course enrollment numbers at the OOMPH website.

Summer Course Dates:

• Summer 1: May 10 - June 27, 2021*
• Summer 2: June 28 - August 15, 2021

*Summer Schedule: We plan to offer the summer campus visits remotely with online completion of course work for PHW200E: Health Policy and Management and PHW289: Interdisciplinary Seminar. 

Make sure to enroll in Summer 1 and Summer 2 courses during the registration period. 

Deadline to enroll: Friday April 23, 2021

Unit Limit:  

If you are a second-year student and would like to register for more than six units of courses (also known as “doubling up"), you will need approval from your Academic Faculty Advisor.

Fall 2021 Enrollment

We encourage all OOMPH students to be registered for no more than six units of courses for Fall 2021. Please login to your CalCentral portal to register for courses. You can also find the Fall 2021 course schedule and course enrollment numbers HERE.

MAKE SURE to enroll in Fall 1 and Fall 2 courses during the registration period listed below: 

Important Fall Date: 

• Phase I - April 26, 2021

Please check CalCentral for your assigned date and time.

Format change for PHW250 and PHW200G

In Fall 2021, PHW250 (Epidemiologic Methods I) and PHW200G (Health & Social Behavior) will be 15-week courses. You will be taking both courses concurrently over the entire semester at a slower pace compared to your Spring and Summer courses. We look forward to seeing you! Practicum

Q&A Session - Tuesday, March 16 :: 5:30pm - 6:30pm PDT. Join on Zoom.

Do you have questions about the practicum? Whether you are just thinking about your practicum or almost done, join for a question and answer session around all things practicum. There will be an overview of the practicum including requirements, resources, and updates, followed by plenty of time for your questions.
