October 26, 2018 is the second annual #OneIslandGivingDay. One Island Giving Day is a one-day virtual event that aims to raise over $1 MILLION for local Long Island-based nonprofits to help create a stronger Long Island for ALL Long Islanders. The campaign was created by The Hagedorn Foundation in 2017 in partnership with area nonprofit organizations.
We challenge you to give to the local nonprofit or cause you care about most. Funds raised here stay here.
Each night CHI provides emergency shelter for over 800 Long Islanders. Your generosity makes a difference in their lives.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Domestic Violence Awareness Project(DVAP) developed a unified message around #1Thing. Change can start with only #1Thing. One person’s actions may seem insignificant, but together a communities' collective “#1Things” can lead to real social transformation.
World Mental Health Day was held on October 10th
, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. This day provides an opportunity for stakeholders to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
Government cuts have made your assistance more vital than ever. Your financial support enables CHI to meet the increased need for housing and services, especially to the children of our communities.
