Duties of Directors
Directors have a duty to act honestly, ethically and in good faith with a view to the best interest of the Corporation.  There is also a duty of loyalty.  Directors may not profit at the expense of the Corporation and must avoid, or at least disclose all conflicts of interest.

A Director breaches his or her duty to act in the best interests of the Corporation in the situation where the Director favours the interests of a particular group, person or entity over the interests of the organization as a whole.

All nominees should be accountable, open-minded, and objective and understand the role of the Board. As a member of the Board, nominees should possess the confidence to provide input and make strong, informed decisions in tackling a variety of important issues; bring a broad perspective of the orthotic/prosthetic profession and beyond to the Board table; and possess strong leadership, communication and consensus-building skills.
DID YOU KNOW - The election for OPC Directors is done using an online voting mechanism.  All eligible voting members of OPC will receive an email from Election Buddy to participate in the voting.  Voting will open on May 3, 2019 and close May 13, 2019.
