Transforming Lives: Saluting Health Center Staff during National Health Center Week
"How could I not fall in love with the health center movement, knowing that it is something life-changing?"
-Elaine Knobbs-Seasholtz, Director of Strategy & Development at Mosaic Community Health
Everyone who is a part of the health center movement has a unique journey that led them to this path. This Health Center Staff Appreciation Day, we'd like to highlight one of these many amazing tales.
Growing up, Elaine unknowingly got care at a community health center from the ages of 4-18. When she met the CEO of Mosaic, everything clicked into place and she saw the power of this national movement. Knowing how much community health centers helped her and her family, the transition into working to support the movement was seamless. Elaine often tells new staff that she would not be here today if it weren't for that community health center.
Today and every day, thank you to everyone who helps support the community health center movement!

August Listening Sessions: Inform OPCA's 2025-26 Legislative Activity
OPCA’s Policy Development & Review Committee (PDRC) along with OPCA’s policy team are inviting you to join one of our August listening sessions. These listening sessions are an opportunity for you to provide feedback on OPCA’s 2025 – 2026 Policy Principles. OPCA will use your feedback to inform our legislative activity during the next two legislative sessions. The Policy Principles will help inform which bills OPCA tracks, supports, and/or opposes in 2025/2026.
You are welcome to attend as many listening sessions as you would like! Each session will follow the same format: an overview of how OPCA utilizes the Policy Principles in its legislative and Regulatory activity followed by feedback from OPCA member health centers. Please join us and bring a friend!

Oregon Health Authority Strategic Plan (2024 – 2027)
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) released its 2024–2027 strategic plan on August 6, 2024, to eliminate health inequities in Oregon by 2030. The plan is divided into five pillars to address health inequities, which OHA defines as differences in health outcomes among groups due to unfair structural barriers.
These barriers include systemic racism, bias, discrimination, and oppression. The plan's goal is to ensure that all people in Oregon can reach their full health potential and well-being, and are not disadvantaged by their race, ethnicity, language, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, social class, or other socially determined circumstances.
