Ayana has 25 years in the finance industry with more than 16 years in healthcare and 13 years' experience working in the FQHC realm. Outside of work, Ayana teaches fitness classes, takes Salsa/Bachata lessons with her partner, knits, makes cards, and she is currently learning to speak Spanish!

Advocates for Community Health Stakeholder Letter Sign On Opportunity
Advocates for Community Health is circulating a letter for stakeholder sign on asking Congressional leadership to reauthorize the Community Health Center Fund at $5.8 billion/year for three years by December 31, 2024, when the fund expires. You can read the letter here.
As we head toward the end of the year and the next funding deadline, it is critical that Congressional leaders hear how important a meaningful, sustained funding increase is to patients, communities, and our nation’s health. The letter currently has 240 signers and counting, including 30 primary care associations and 18 national organizations. This letter is open to all national, state, and local organizations, including health centers.
Signatures are due by COB on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Free Contract Negotiation Training Sessions for OPCA Members (Recordings)
OPCA Members are invited to view the Oregon Network of Community Health Centers (the Network) training on contracting and partnership, which is facilitated by Adam Falcone, Partner at Feldesman. This free, virtual, 3-session training provides health center staff with insights and strategies for negotiating and re-negotiating favorable managed care contracts.

ReCTiFY the Situation with ARTIC: Autumn 2024
ReCTiFY is an in-depth training focused on identifying unified strategies across Oregon to address racism and its impacts along the HIV Care Continuum. Using this tool participants will apply an anti-racist, trauma-informed, and client/patient-centered lens to their work. Attendees are encouraged to bring at least one policy, practice, or procedure to the session to apply the ReCTiFY tool to real-life examples.

The Oregon GWEP is enrolling primary care clinics and long-term care facilities in a mentorship course to develop Age-Friendly Health Systems and achieve Age-Friendly recognition. Oregon GWEP will offer no-cost clinical care team education and training, mentorship, evaluation support, and Age-Friendly Health System application guidance to help clinical teams become Age-Friendly Health Systems.
