Home Buying in the Winter

Winter can be an ideal time for buyers to purchase a home. Once summer ends, sellers get more motivated. They usually lower their prices, and this provides an opportunity for you to get a better deal. In addition, many sellers want to avoid moving during the holiday season, which gives you more room to negotiate when you do make an offer.
There are fewer buyers during the winter. People with children generally shop for a home during spring and summer because they want to be settled into a house before school starts. Once winter hits, they tend to put home shopping on hold until the next spring.
As of now, mortgage rates are still low. If you need assistance buying or refinancing a home, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the loan department.
