EARN A FREE OPEN STREETS T-SHIRT

Be an Intersection Superhero!

The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition is a proud co-sponsor of this year’s Open Streets – and we’d like YOU to be part of it, too!

On Sunday, August 14, from 12 noon to 4 pm, two miles of city streets will be closed to vehicle traffic between Arnold Park and Chintimini Park, and opened up for people to walk, bike, and roll (see this year’s route map). This fantasticfree street festival will feature bicycle-powered activities, giant-sized games, local food and drink, dance, and live music. Neighbors, community groups, and businesses will host interactive activities along the route.

The success of Open Streets depends on volunteers – people like you who offer to help for a couple of hours to make the festival happen. In return, volunteers get a free t-shirt, snacks, and a darn good time! Right now, we need a LOT more people to serve as Intersection Superheroes.

Intersection Superheroes make the event fun and safe by:

  • Handing out event day schedules to festival-goers
  • Answering basic questions
  • Redirecting most cars
  • Escorting (walking) local residents driving their cars to/from their homes

There are three shifts to choose from: 11:30 am to 1 pm, 1 to 3 pm, and 3 to 4:30 pm. Go to the volunteer sign-up page to let us know which shift works best for you.

Thank you in advance for your help!
